Very weird - I am either not very sensitive to stuttering or it doesn't happen to all car.

I tried all 3 maps (Drive, Sport and Aggressive) on the Stage 2+ FMIC and I can't feel this stuttering and hiccups people keep saying.

Mine occur on stg 2 and 2+ between 3k-4k RPM. Below 3k and above 4k are like butter. I can hear the fluctuations in my BOV and the tone of the exaust. Boost and RPM fluctuate in that zone, then level out and its smooth as can be again. Very weird. The last update from COBB made the phenomenon less severe but it is still very much there.

If you don't have it be happy lol. It seems to only happen on certain cars.

I'm not sensitive to reproduce this in 2nd gear, but if I were flooring the car in 3rd at around 3k rpms, I can most definitely feel the 'VTEC' feeling around 4k ish rpms on the 2+ aggressive map.

And no, there wasn't any problems with my car.

No issues with my car either ( at least I hope not ) no codes were found or anything. I was running the stage 2+ fmic agressive map ST and it was really really bad. It just sounded aweful. I'd floor the car and it just does like a "wah wah wah" sound lol then goes.

I uninstalled it and it went away, then turned on the JB4 and no stutter. Like I said i'm hoping the new maps correct this

This stuttering you guys speak of is the same thing I had with giac stg 2, I had a couple checks done and finally ruled out hardware, ended up switching to the jb4 and the car runs great. I hope Cobb can find a fix for it, giac couldnt for my car. I wonder if my stuttering issues and the Cobb stuttering is related?

You guys talking about occalation ??i had the same issue if this is the case but only on st map stage 2 +.I switched to the linear map liked it for 1 week but felt it was too tamed for my liking .I updated the firmware and loaded map 2 + back in with the golf tee mod ,nOw it doesn't do it anymore .The only thing I do feel is a slight lag at 3 k ( almost Like a boost leak ) but when 4 k hits ,the car is like a rocket .I talked to cobb and they told me the fix is in the works along with the data boost logging ,and the update will be released in the middle of the month .

Ram what tune you like Better now jb4 or Cobb ?

Ian,Rob @Cobb,or aanybody I have an '11 335is 6500mi and have been studying blogs and am ready to take the plunge and order. I found the attached Not a huge increase over stock
I preffer not to add hardware or push the engine too much. Would a safe stage II add a significant amount of hp/tq ?

The 335is uses an overboost function for the first ~7 seconds of WOT, producing similar results to the Cobb stage 1. However, after that 7 seconds the overboost function is gone. With the Cobb you are essentially "overboosting" the whole time. In order to see the real difference between Cobb and stock you need to see a 2-3-4 dyno pull.

In order to run stage 2 you need aftermarket downpipes. For stage 2+ you need DPs, upgraded intercooler and intake.
IMO you should do an upgraded intercooler even if you're stock, the OEM unit is garbage.

I knew about the continuous overboostbut these curves do not indicate.Sat I was at 80,blocked by a pack at 75,hit it, 110. Nice but no OB.OB low rpm, gear. So buy, install, find IC, dyno. Still better than $1800 Dinan. Thanks

You can PM Jeff@topgearsolutions and order the Cobb AP AND a great FMIC for less than the price of just the Dinan stage 2 tune. The Helix and ETS 5" intercoolers are both amazingly high quality pieces that require no trimming.

hey Cobb.....how about a reflash for the 335is launch control? the stock 5k rpm launch is way too much when tuned. maybe 2k instead? I'm sure I'm not the only "is" that would love that.
