Talking 335i weekly/monthly fuel consumption?

Picking up my 335i on Sunday, very excited cant wait

Just racking my brains on expected fuel costs.

I work 2 minutes from home, as a estate agent, wont be doing much driving, maybe a few miles a day in total believe it or not.

Many properties are local we show.

How much do you guys spend on your 335i?

Thanks

It's never going to be cheap whith petrol about £1,000,000 a litre at the moment. It will be worth it though for the weekend/day off drives that are more than a few miles.

a twin turbo car being used for couple miles each day? 15-20mpg and it will never get warm which is a bad thing.

I did about 15,000 miles last year at an average of 27mpg. That means I used 555 gallons.

V Power is currently £6.40 a gallon adding up to £3520 per year which is £293 per month.

In December, mine has averaged 25.8mpg. 4.37 miles for every £1 of fuel. 5.7 miles per litre of petrol. £258 spent.

TBH I wouldn't have bought this if it was to be a commuter, I'd have gone for a small NA engine. Weekend car only, 4-5k per year only.

25.4 av/mpg.

Average over 30mpg over the last 20,000 miles.

Best of 38 mpg on a 100 mile trip. Got 445 miles out of the last tank (32.8mpg average). Mainly sit on busy motorways, no point booting it.. I save it for the 8 miles of back road when I'm nearing home.

Once warm they are fantastically fuel efficient.

I've said for a long time too many people are oblivious to the 335i.

It's an absolute bargin in performance terms.

Why settle for a hot hatch when a used 335i costs the same, returns the same fuel consumption as 2 litre hot hatches, insurance and running costs are not much worse either.

That's what it came down to me before. A Mazda 3MPS which is a nice hot hatch or a 335i. Once I done some thinking it actually becomes an easy decision.

Just sold my MK2 Mazda MPS mapped to about 285BHP i loved it for the 9Months i had it, but the 335i is a better car in every sense. Although it is lacking some of the nice features the MPS had though, such as LSD, 10 speaker Bose, adaptive lights, bluetooth, boost gauge keyless entry and start etc.

Im averaging 22.7MPG over the 400 miles ive drive my 335i

Thanks for all the heads up lads,

Bit of a odd question, never had a auto before and im unsure weather its more fuel economic to use the auto or paddle shifting.

Or even if it makes a difference?

That's what's putting me off with a short commute.

Would it be that detremenal?

I use the paddle shift a lot! especially to downshift....sometimes even from 2nd to 1st gear....i like to hear the engine rev on downshift.... maybe thats why, i've got low mpg figures....Anyways, are these on board computers accurate??!

The OBC is VERY accurate actually.

Those of you trending with 'Fuelly' can see just how good it is.
So long as you dont frig about with it, like resetting after you get to the motorway.

It's cold starts that hurt long term economy.

A twin turbo`ed car that never heats up? It certainly won't do it any favours.

in terms of cold starts, whats the best thing to do then?

let the engine running for few mins in the morning before driving off?
