You'd need a separate amp and a technique harness.

Just make sure the Amp's impedance & RMS match the subs " ".

I think this looks great! Hard to tell from the pics, is it sitting IB, or did the back of the box get sealed up in the end?
Pics from the trunk?

How does it sound? How low, and loud, does it go (even qualitatively)?

I know a corner loaded sub will sound better than under the cargo area. I guess I do like my little net cargo area as it holds so many things so well (normally a bottle of wine or a six pack on the trip back from the store)

I I think you meant you highly recommend it because that looks awesome not only that I'm sure you get a lot of sound directly to the cockpit you won't get the bass tube effect of the trunk but I'm certain that's got to be loud and it doesn't take up much space to Great spot very good idea my friend. How much did it cost if you don't mind me asking and how hard was it to fabricate that my old 06 330 I had the winter package were that would just open up behind the back armrest but my new one is a sealed wall.. doesn't have the winter package

How much would all that be at one time I wanted to buy this Shield ported sub box for extreme 600 to 1000 W kicker in the trunk but it would fill the whole trunk up and put a strain on the electronics for sure. But that would probably be a little too much considering it already sounds good stock what I love about these cars

Never seen anything like it that is freaking cleanery and you could hide it with the cup holders. I'm jealous!

If you have the ski pass that allows you to open the middle of the back seat to the trunk, then you have a lot of options.

You could add a corner mounted 10 or 12" sub like the link below. I bought this one & it's 100% fiberglass, which is excellent for bass reproduction. I believe it's much better than the any other material that is used for making sub boxes. I think mine cost $185.00 or so

https://www.ebay.com/itm/152913063185

You buy the sub first that you want & tell them the exact make & model. They will build the box according to the model sub you are putting in there.

You could get a JL Audio 12" sub w/ an RMS of 500watts for $309.00

https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item...m_campaign=PLA

You could get an Alpine 500w RMS @ 4ohm amp for $429

https://www.crutchfield.com/p_500RA7....html?tp=35834

Box - $200
Sub - $309
Amp - $429
Amp hook up kit - $75.00

$1000.00- a little sticker shock for ya !

However, given the small size of the e90, this is MORE than enough power & bass for this size of a car! Trust me on that!!!

Personally, this set up is in the "base head" category. At least IMO.. 😆

If you want to save trunk space, look into the IB setup some of us have done (including myself, I probably have pics earlier in this thread, or others).

There's even a DIY thread on here, many of us didn't have the access through the rear seat, but just cut one ourselves (that's exactly what I did, my trunk was completely sealed before).

The sound is great, hits very low, takes zero trunk space, and as you said, can close the armrest and hide the whole thing.

Worth a look IMO
