Dual Outlet exhaust
For some reason almost all 328i's and 328xi's I see on this form have dual outlets but mine doesn't what would be the best way approaching this conversion (manufacturer/site/price)

do you mean dual outlets like one tip on both sides like a 335 or two tips on the driver's side?
if you mean one tip on each side, there aren't many 328's that have that - seems like a hassle to do. if you mean the two tips on the left side, that's what all 328's come with and if yours doesn't have that, something's wrong

Regardless if its a 328xi or just a 328i I've seen them both with dual exhausts which has 2 mufflers (o---o) and and a dual single exhaust which has 1 muffler (oo----) lol

I don't get it.
single side twin exhaust - 6 cyl except 335 (my 325 in this case): dual, each on a side - 335: quads (Alpina in this case but can be anything): which one do you want??

I'm planning to do quad on my 328i, but the right side will not be functional because I want to keep my OEM in order to avoid voiding my warranty.
But if you're not concern about the warranty, then you can replace the muffler with something like this http://www.supremepowerparts.com/144..._FI_(N52).html

I would embrace the single side on 328, but may be use on it Cyba tips which are bigger and give it a nicer look. 80x2 looks way better than stock 70x2 (which is what I have). Tips on BMW Performance exhaust are 76x2 and already look much nicer than stock.

Why don't you look in the n52 section? There are a bundle of people that have done the conversion easily. The hard part would be your rear bumper.

I've read in a couple NA Exhaust threads that doing the dual/quad setup doesn't void warranty. I myself don't know the exact answer so can anyone else chime in with some concrete information pertaining to the warranty?

AWD doesn't have anything to do with it. On a 328 the stumbling block is the trunk storage cavity that protrudes under the car, and the Evap components on the PS that need to be relocated to add an exhaust that uses (2) mufflers.
There are aftermarket catbacks, that can give you the dual look - but they use (1) muffler in stock location and a pipe that runs behind bumper to the other side with tips. There are also tons of diffusers available (oem & aftermarket) that will work with single-dual, dual, & quad - of course you have to have ther MTech/MSport bumper first for them to work. Custom exhausts can be made - but best to have diffuser you are going to use 1st so they know exact location of exit tips. And a 328/ix with tips on each side, or quads is not that usual - more than likely, any pics you have seen - they are using the aftermarket catback as explained above, the other options reuire quite a bit of modifications...

a lot of people just buy an aftermarket muffler, particularly magnaflow, and get custom piping done. instead of cutting the bumper up you'd be better off buying an msport rear with the dual or quad diffuser. if you end up going that route, Cyba has some great looking exhaust tips for both dual or quads.
here are two videos to visualize the exhaust and hear what it generally sounds like. here's AKbmw's 328i that may have the exact look that you want! http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=406453
