335i Slower than usual, underlying problem?
I currently own a 2010 BMW e90 335i xdrive sedan, the car has 80k miles and I was messing around and raced my friend in the new x5, to my surprise he won and I decided to get the 0 to 60 time with a milliseconds counter in my phone and after 5 tests it appears to be an average of 5.7 seconds. The car feels slower that usual and every form says that this gen 335i should get around 4.9 to 5.1 seconds and BMW itself said 5.2. No check engine light is on and nothing appears on my personal basic OBD 2 sensor. I was wondering if there is any problems with the car or is this normal for a higher mileage 2010 335i?
Thanks, Brian |

Without any codes or driveability problems it's practically impossible to say since there are too many factors involved.
While BMW states a 0-60 time of however many seconds, that is when the car is new (you said yours is high mileage). Other factors: -age of tune-up parts like spark plugs, air filter -fuel quality from the stations you go to -tire/wheel rolling resistance (larger wheels = heavier weight, tire PSI) -alignment -road conditions -weight in the car (extra cargo, spare tire, full tank of fuel, fat passengers, etc) -drag from worn bearings/parts like driveshaft u-joints
