i have it, and no i didn't like the price, but with my exhaust and the filter combo, i did notice a quicker throttle response. and i do like the design of the filter, over anything that i have ever purchased from k&n.

ITG sounds

I have ITG's on two different E35 M3's, and they definitely give more sound at WOT. On these cars they give more power at WOT/high rpms. I can't speak for power on the 335i application, but the noise factor would be the same.

Check their website? Now there's a surprise... I wonder if the K&N website ALSO says the ITG outperforms the K&N...now that would be truth in advertising...

This is one of the reasons that i don't choose the filter. I don't trust the filtration. I had one on my GLI and there was dirt on the engine side of the filter after 2k miles. The filter came with a kit.

If you add the poor filtration to the cost, I think it's a waste of money.
Just wait for the Helene performance filter to come out. They are working on it now and the filtration is way superior.

I'll be getting my ITG filter next week, and I'll let you know what I think. FWIW, I had a K&N air filter on my '04 G35 and really liked it (better sound, possibly a few extra HP), but with the 335i's F/I tt N54 engine, I'm not sure that any aftermarket high-flow filter will really make a difference...maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised; I guess we'll see.

Ive had one for a couple months now. I like the grunt of the intake now. I also have taken it out a couple times to check things. In the little corners of the intake box theres pockets of sand. I end up vacuuming that out so its clean. But obviously this does its job of not letting those particals through. Its a much thicker filter than the K&N as well, and its not oiled.

Ive been replacing OEM filters on all my cars for over 15 yrs, its just habitual now. Never had a problem with any of them.

I shaved a full second off of my quarter mile time...

no, really!

I doubt anyone can feel the difference on anything that makes 15hp or less. But, they have shown a gain of 1 to 4 hp on a dyno, and if you add this to other mods like a cat-back exhaust (+10 hp) the overall impact could start to become appreciable.

+ it’s only a hundred bucks, not a huge investment by any means.

I should of said check their website for the information on how good their product protects your car against dust and particles. For sound, I had a JC 60/90 filter on my e46 330 and it sounded amazing... the sucking sound could be heard when I reved the engine and it was fierce.

That's good to hear, and I'm glad you checked because I think a bunch of people just throw in a filter thinking that it's going to just do the trick.

The non oiled part is what worries me the most. I know that paper filters aren't oiled but the oiled ideoligy just makes more sense to be able to trap more dirt. I'm not saying that K&N is the best; I'm just saying that I would trust an oiled filter more than a non oiled aftermarket filter.

I posted ithe link n another thread about the helene performance coming out with a filter specificaly for our engines. Check them out:

http://www.heleneperformance.com/products.htm

It might look like a K&N but the filtration is much better.

That's what I figured. I have PROcede (with stock exhaust) so I figured that adding a high-flow air filter like the ITG couldn't hurt...and it was $98.69 including shipping.

A 5% gain is difficult to perceive for most. Anything less is just optimism. A filter alone will account for typically less than 1% if even that.

IMO, a clean stock filter will yield about the same gains as a maintenance type filter. So you can continually replace the factory filter, I do at every oil change, or maintain a filter and end with essentially the same power depending on when it was last changed or maintained.
