That is way off...If car is running fine I would leave it...Also I have no idea what you mean as for Ediabas being 7.2 that was needed...Mine works fine and I am on 6.4.7 with no issues on INPA, DIS, Progman.

If the coding matches the stampings on the injectors, then don't worry about it.

The numbers are off the injectors.
Car drives very nice now, no more hick-ups or jumping idle.

Boom! Another one has his car running better! I bet my lunch there are tons of N54's out there with miscoded injectors.

Has anyone gotten INPA to work with Win 7 64bit (Home Premium)?

I've tried on 2 different laptops following Vasil's excellent instructions, but still get the Battery "On" and Ignition "Off". Anyone know what's causing the Ignition to remain off or how to fix it?

I am able to go through and see the injector codings, but when I try to change them, I get the explanation points next to the numbers

There has to be something not right with the injector readings. Either that or your injector are way off and not even coded at all ever! INPA works fine with windows 64. Ncs will not

They were coded correctly before, but I got the exclamation points after I installed new injectors and tried to recode them. It's like the new coding didn't take.

My guess is it's a result of the Ignition light not turning black in INPA. There's some communication since I could read the injector coding before, but apparently not a good enough connection to code the new injectors.

Yeah there is some communication error between the cable and ediabas to INPA...Do you get any error codes from INPA? Based upon looking at the injector values, it definitely did not code right at all. Is the car running fine otherwise?

No error codes from INPA. Car starts and idles ok, haven't driven it though.

Any tips how to get the Ignition circle to go black when using win 7 64 bit? I got the cable from the same link as Vasil and windows found the driver.

Heres the thing...Cables are very tricky when it comes to having one that is good and one that is bad...If you can still communicate with INPA but then your ignition circle is not lite, values on the right side of the injector values are all smudged, you might have a defective cable. I would go out and get another one, but not from that vendor. Try different vendor, I bought mine from here

http://www.tmart.com/Interface-USB-O...W_p101210.html

I know it may look the same but remember different people put it together from different factorys or suppliers.

Will try that, thx. Plus recall you saying your cable arrived in a few days vs my current one which took a few weeks to arrive.

Question, are the cylinders In INPA in bank order or firing order?

Looking at the values I would guess you did not put the decimal . correctly, it should be 2.12, not 212.99

Yeah, the decimal separator is not where it is supposed to be.

I forgot the whole decimal part, now the injectors coded just fine, even with the white Ignition circle on INPA (instead of black).

Many thanks to Vasil, CN, and pinky.

Can you see whats written on the injector without taking them out or replacing them? I know that a while ago, 3 of my injectors were changed but I dont know if properly coded, so can I check? Can I check without changing or removing the injectors?

Thanks

Also what are the simptoms of badly coded injectors? Poor idle and misfires with tunes?

Yes, you can see the coding with the injector in place, just have to pull the engine cover to see the numbers on the injectors.

Correct. The stampings are on the top part of the injectors, clearly visible when the engine cover is removed.
