Is it possible to change the color of the interior seats?

I currently have a black interior, but was wondering if it's possible to change it to another color, such as the red coral interior?

If its possible, how much would the cost be and where can I get it done?

Any decent upholstery shop could do that, even with better leather hides than factory. However, the trick is if this shop can do it while retaining the side airbags functionality in the front seats.

You could also go the OEM route by buying the OEM leather seat covers and side panels, but that will cost several thousands of dollars just in parts alone.

Another option is to simply swap interiors with another BMW. Post an ad in the classifieds and perhaps somebody will be interested in changing to black, the same way that you are interested in changing to red.

Swap with another BMW, or find a salvage car with the colors you like and buy the seats. This would just be the seats, but I suppose you could find door panels and carpet, too, if you want to go whole hog.

I believe you can buy just the leather wrap on the seat. I'm sure its a nightmare to slip it over the new seat, but done carefully, it shouldn't be a problem.

Yes you can go to an upholstry shop and get it done.

Just make sure they are a good shop and ask to see some of there work. Ive seen alot of seats done that arent tight and have wrinkles, you can tell they are not OEM.

I would love a black interior with white seats and door panels, with black piping around the seats.

A swap as in, simply take out my seats and trade it with someone elses seats on this forum (whoever is interested)?

Lol...how do I even ship "seats". This could be interesting...

E90 does not and never did have Coral Red as an interior option.

No need to ship if you don't know even how. The last time I checked there are 9 million people living in NYC... there should be at least a couple of forum members there that could be interested. Or some junkyard with the parts...

buyin new oem from dealership is around $5k. not worth it, i've asked already cuz i wanted an individual color and those go for $5k also....

i doubt anyone wants to trade their coral red seats also, its ridiculously tough to find someone willin for a trade. best bet is to get it upholstered by someone professional.

You could get them redyded as well, but since your seats are dark it would probably take a lot of coats to get the right color. Anything is possible though.

Seems like an expensive want haha. Maybe I'll just stick with the slick black and use my money for something else, such as suspension upgrades or a new set of wheels.

Thanks everyone for their ideas.
