Finally bought the car that matches my user name!

All,

I have finally managed to sort out the M3 purchase and am now the proud owner of a 2008 Manual e92 M3 in Silverstone II. It only has 5100 miles on the clock, has had only one owner (not an ex demo car) and is totally immaculate. Spec is as follows;

19" M Double Spokes
Adaptive Headlights
Armrest Front with Sliding Adjustment
Black Carbon look Leather interior trim
Bluetooth Phone Prep
DAB Digital Radio
Folding Mirrors
EDC
Exterior Trim High Gloss Shadowline
High Beam Assistant
Extended Black Novillo Leather
Loudspeaker System - LOGIC 7 Professional
Seat Heating Front
USB Interface

A few pics attached (hopefully!)

I got a great deal in the end so was chuffed with what I got for the touring and how much I managed to squeeze out of the M.

One question I had was with regards to the badges, I want to change them for Carbon ones but I have no idea how to remove the bonnet and boot badges without doing any damage to the car, help?!

Thanks
Ian

Car looks fantastic - reg plate looks unusual also!!

Enjoy it!!!!!!!

The badges are very easy to remove - just use the edge of a credit card to lift them up a little and then I used a small screwdriver blade wrapped in insulating tape to ease them out - they are just pushed into two small plastick gromits - the new ones just push straight back in

Thanks for the pm as well, unfortunately, I already have all the bits I need just didn't know how to remove the badges.

Looks exactly like boof's. Glad to see a proper manual. Real driver car. I like it. Badges are easy to remove. Be careful to not scratch the sides of your paintwork near the badge. Just ease out around the badges, you'll get there in the end and then just lift them off with your hands. Putting 'em in is just plain easy.

Lovely car Ian. My first choice of colour combo and good spec also.

Wish everyone would stop buying M3's as I'm getting exceedingly jealous and might have to do something stupid soon!!!

I'm getting used to crap fuel consumption with the 350Z so it's just the price of the car (the combination of those two factors make it not possible!!!).

Wakey Wakey Sunil. Come on mate, it's what Ian's wife 'thinks' it does!!! M3's do a shade under 20mpg given combined driving, as low as 15/16 or as high as 24/25 (I think).

That's what I thought.

How can she think it does this when the mpg stares you in the face while driving. Does she even drive?!? Does she know what mpg means?

Mine does 16mpg pretty much all the time - you won't get much more unless you drive like a pussy!

I bought one of these many years ago - great bit of kit for prising things without the damage of a screwdriver;

I actually got mine from Volvo but these are very similar

Thanks MOB, I've just ordered one....

I actually get about 19mpg, so not that bad really. The wife drives the car but I always keep the OBC on the speed reading and she never bothers to change it!!
