Ahhhhh that's where they are!!! I bought a set of m3 paddles (since decided I like the stock ones better) and was looking like mad for those holes and gave up.

Iam waiting for my M3 full nappa steering wheel with paddles i won at auction the other day at a very very good price brand new, which now i have the M3 paddles already installed on the car.
I love the tri-stitching and the soft leather.

Yeah those holes are very inconspicuous! I spent the best part of an hour fugging around with my screwdriver, youtube a few diy install and they were popping them off in 15 seconds.... Hopefully those pics may save someone else some time!

Looking sharp Shane. Once those M-Sport E92 313 rims go on it's going to look even more crisp. I love looking at the rear angle shot of your car. Very clean lines and sits so well. Great presence.

Are you going to the EST Eurofest?

Looking forward to your next updates. Always look the business IMO

had a starting issue this evening, went to my in laws for dinner when i went to leave to drive home the car wouldn't start.

It pops up with a 'service' message/fault on the dash but wont crank.... everytime you go to crank the engine it pops up with a ignition on! error fault on the idrive

The bmw roadside assist tech had no idea, so she is getting towed to the dealer tomorrow....

Any idea on what it may be? It cant be a battery issue everything works fine, clutch is being fully depressed (it wouldn't pop up with a service fault if this was the case?) all fuses are fine, surely the starter motor wouldn't just go? You can hear the fuel pump prime also....

The car has also been driving and starting fine!

I'm no expert but its like a faulty starter button?

Hmm its definately a weird one...

Yes I sat up for a few hrs last night searching starting issues, and it was normally either battery issue, HPFP, or steering lock malfunction nothing like the symptoms I have.

Sitting at home last night mulling it over I thought maybe its a key issue, so I drove over there this morning with my spare and bam it fired up straight away. I thought to myself just to be sure this is the issue I will try again, but alas it wont fire up again.

All I can think of is a dodgy ECU or some form of electrical gremlin hopefully something simple...

Hmm yes that does sound possible, the car is under warranty but I believe the bmw premium select warranty only covers the 'client' who purchased the car from bmw damn...

Well I guess once they diagnose what the actual problem is I can research what used items are out there.

Unsure if the dealership would perform the work on a used item, but they appear to be ~ $200 used no doubt new from bmw they will be 4 x times that! I would definitely go with a used item as it can be sent by overnight delivery also rather then weeks via dhl from Germany!

Well I phoned the dealership today to check the status for diagnosis of the car, apparently its a bit of a doozy and they are unsure what's causing the issue... They should know by tomorrow morning what the issue is (im guessing they are having an external party check the car remotely- apparentley my mates VW had his software reflashed from techs in Germany in the early hrs of the morning?)

Not exactly confidence inspiring words, but honest never the less!

On another note I'm inspired to get an m3 style bar with a cf lip and air ducts!!!!

I really cant justify $3K ish on a front bar, I would prefer a set of bmw performance alcantra seats for $4K ish!!!

On another note I had some news on my car with the recent starting issue. Unfortunately I got the young 16 y.o gofer type who answered the phone, the messaged he relayed back was that they had diagnosed the issue to the starter motor, some part of that needs replacing as they borrowed one from a used car swapped it over and away it fired. They have ordered one from Melb and it should have arrived today.

So hopefully by next week I shall have her back ready to detail with these items:

nanolex paint/ wheel sealant & glass sealant, Autobrite snow foam & sealant, AB tyre gel & dodo juice supernatural trim sealant.

Well the latest update on my car is that it was suffering from a large voltage drop upon starting due to a bad earth on the engine mount.

They are changing over the bolt on the engine mount today and it should be ready to go...

Christ who would of thought that an engine mount bolt would cause a starting issue!
