DIY Service reset help - Reset to 0km

Hi All,

First post so apologies if i've not followed protocol, but i'm having an issue with resetting the service light on my 05 320d.

I followed the very hepful guide posted here, and got to the spinning clock on the service reset however the miles only reset to 0, so after driving for 1km the service light re-appeared.

I can reset this again, but its a royal pain as selling the car. The Car has been serviced 2000km ago but the garage did not reset the light.

Any ideas?

How many actual miles on your car? If over 185k miles / 300k kilometers then see this post.....

Are you talking about the service engine light or a service reminder. You might have something else wrong with the car. You can go to any auto store (u.s at least) and they can read and clear a code.

Would be best to see the specific service that the car is alerting you to.

If it's oil check post above about the mileage conditions with the oil light monitor.

Should it be a brake service that was performed you may need a new pad sensor or the replacement may have been dislodged from the pad.

Of course these are suggestions but do check to see what the service light is specifically for.
