Check out the picture of the side view of the old/new turbo wheel. The old wheel should not look like that. The broken tips of the turbine blades cause instability. I am surprised that this did not grenade on you.

What is on the new turbo - wax or paint?

The turbo came like that from borg, looks like paint to me.

That turbine wheel came from a stg 4 tuned car, maybe boosting 50psi didnt help on that small turbo!

Here is a comparo of the SX-E 257 Turbo i'll be running, coupled with a .63 ar housing it will flow much, much better than the smallish oem LP.

Wow. Just Wow.

What are your goals for boost/airflow and power on that monster? And when will you have it running? That should have the capability to make some unprecedented output.

I'm also curious on how much you have invested in all these modifications. I keep saying "this is the last mod", but DANG there is a lot of beautiful craftsmanship and modifications there... Big modifications and power doesn't usually come cheap :-)

I know I'm ignoring the most impressive and drool-worthy parts of your build by asking this, but...the hood color? Is the rest of the car getting resprayed that metallic green color? If so, that's bold. And I like it.

Thanks guys for the nice comments!

Honestly, i'm not sure how all of this engine work will translate in Hp/tq figures, but a RELIABLE 500whp/700wtq would be very good for me.

I've had issues with my previous stg4 setup, either HG failure head lift, so i'm hoping that all the preventive measure that i took will solve (all) problems with the M57. I was also concerned about High EMP, so hopefully the larger .82 a/r turbine will help in that matter.

The green hood wont stay as the car will be completely repainted in its original color.

Cheers,
Dave

Well, that's a shame.

There's something about a luxury sedan with a bat-shit crazy turbo diesel under the hood painted like a Lamborghini that is oddly appealing to me.

Anyhow, I can't wait to see the final product.

No rear end work. Not planning to anyway.

M3 rockers panel are clipped on lower chassis, so no mods there.

Isn't there a flare on the end to match the wider rear fender of the m3. I have all the same body panels and I used your advice from the other thread to buy all the brackets and bolts. I am just looking for a low km 335d or a 6 speed n52 or n55 so I can get going.

I never heard of a flare to match the rear fender to the rocker panel. But yes is missing a couple of millimeters for a perfect fit.

Yeah, thats exactly what I meant. The m3 rear panel is wider so the rocker would be wider in the rear to accomodate and I believe its the couple mm you are talking about. I was going to weld my non m rocker to the m rocker to make it flush. Can you snap a picture next time so I can see if it is worth. If its not really noticeable I wouldn't even bother.

Also, what was required to get the e92 headlights working? Is the harness plug and play? Coding?

My headlight were plug and play. They are euro M3 headlights. You will need to code off the fog lights.

I've updated my picture project page, take a look you will see the gap between rear fender and M3 rocker panel.
