It can get interesting in the wet, throttle application exiting a bend needs to be feathered!

It doesn't take much to spin after the bridge at LCMT, negatively cambered turn! Did a 270 there once....

If you go on CBA site, these cars are not on the list of cars importable from the USA.

If you go on John Scotti site they have a track only Exige Cup selling for over 100k, you will need to trailer the car though. Go get it cos I want a ride in it

I've always wanted one, and have been seriously thinking of one ever since a pair of insane ones would fly by me at Watkins irrespective of how much I floored the gas.

But not being able to import one is a wrench in the plans. Hm.

Ken, I may come but I'm not having Tim coffee. I am going out on a limb, my coffee at home is one of the best in Montreal (Tony can vouch for it...)

I have become extremely selective with my coffee...I will come for the company...

It comes down to the driver...in my book the 911 is king. It is the most versatile sports car and won every single race category it has entered in its 50-years. From LeMans to Rally races all the way to the Dakar. 50 years old and it remains the reference and a legend.

Your 997 GT3 RS is already considered a classic...

the 911 is one of the best cars to date! but the GTR is a different animal... more car than driver IMO..

on the other hand, the new cayman looks promising specially with almost identical performance as the 911 at a lower price and not to forget the new m3/m4 is looking better and better everyday, less than 1500kg and around 450 hp and easily tuned to 500hp with a simple tune and not to forget ceramic brakes as an option..

i think my car is more fun to drive than a GTR (drove one at las vegas speedway with tony). but in terms of speed and lap times, the GTR is definitely one up from my little 911.... the older R33, R34 GTRs are also 'classics' and quite sought after, just like air-cooled 911s... i guess its a question of what kind of weapon you want to take along with you. i wished i could have both in the garage.

Your home coffee is indeed intriguing, I'll invite myself over one of these days

wastegates and brakes

Ok so what if my wastegates rattle like crazy, does it mean turbos will be going out soon and/or boost will leak?

My brake pads squeek sometimes, even if not braking, how common is that?

Tony and I are quite critical of coffee however he is more vocal than I.

Don't even get me going on air cooled 911's, one day, one day in the future. More for just pure driving pleasure, certainly not for speed. Everything is so primitive and raw in the air cooled 911's yet they are built like tanks...

Ahh, yes, the blue and yellow twins. It was all about corner entry and exit speed my friend.

You need to come for a spin with me at Mosport in turn 4 and 5 or 9 and 10. G force pucker mode. The corner entry is so much faster than most cars I can always catch you on a corner. This is the fastest Miata I have ever seen in my life (V8 small block).

You know, I always have this dilemma. There are so many old awesome cars. Yet... I think I've resigned to never owning one. Unless I can have a bunch of different cars, I KNOW I will hate them. sure, there is driving pleasure in driving a steam locomotive like a 'Cuda or a Roadrunner. But would I want to drive it more than a few times a month? Hell no. An aircooled 911... would be an awesome car, but would I want to track that? No. I want to track a car from the 21st century, with electronic readouts, various suspension settings and, most importantly, POWER.

And so on.
