Brake Launch Problems

Hello, I have a 2011 335d (diesel) and over my ownership of the car I have enjoyed the occasional brake launch (automatic trans). However recently I have been unable to get good launches out of the car. When I place my foot on the break and the other on the gas the rpms go up to around 3500 and the tires start to squeal and then all of the sudden the engine cuts power and it drops all the way to 1000 and doesn't go back up.

This issue isn't effecting my normal driving and I really have no understanding of what could be causing this issue. I almost always do launches with DTC off and in sport mode.

Please help tell me what is going wrong. Thanks!

Do you hate your torque converter or something? The car wasnt designed to be brake torqued all the time and its destroying your tranny. Even if you are at the track and those few tenths of a second matter is it worth all that stress on the driveline? I think this is happening because the car wasnt designed to do that in the first place and your tranny might be letting itself go. All those reviews where you watch journalists launch the car like that don't give a shit about the wear and tear the car goes through because it's not there's. Just my 2 cents

I have to agree. Also you have a diesel which means you have much more torque down low. That's a serious stress on the torque converter and the transmission. Would advise to stop doing that.
