Ontario, Here I Come

I am being transferred to North Bay Ontario. Any suggestion as far as dealership service. Is it better for me to go to Ottawa or Toronto? Any of you guys have any experiences/recommendations. Crap, now I have to mount ugly front license plate on my cars.

Hey, welcome to ON

I made the same move 2.5 years ago... but I kept my NS plates for a while, better looking and saves a lot of the 407

hint, renew your NS plates just before u come here...

WELCOME!!! north bay..thats a pretty far drive from TO...you really gonna drive that far for service?

Well North Bay is 4 hours driving from Ottawa and 3 and a half from TO. The choice will be mine.

Thanks. Isn't there a time limit to change pates over. I don't want to get in trouble.

Technically I think the closest dealer to you is Open Road BMW in Newmarket... would only save you 30mins or so but every bit helps right?

Surprised there isn't a BMW dealer in Barrie yet actually, the population is well over 125k and with the number of people commuting to the GTA to work the income is definitely there as well.

Aside from that, congrats on the move.

Just be careful what you answer police when they stop you, e.g. remeber your Hfx address

in all seriousness, you should change it to an Ontario plate, God forbid you get into an accident, and your insurance comapny finds out that you've been living in Ontario and not in NS, they'll probably void your claim

I had the choice. There was no difference for my career and in North Bay we will be closer to family. This will be good for my career. My wife is definitely happier we are going in Ontario. If the wife is happy, I am happy.

You are right. I checked the dealer in Newmarket is about 300 km from North Bay. Anyone has any experience with them?

I am surprised also about the lack of a BMW dealer in Barrie.
