Here are the Map update instructions:
1. Open Map .rar file with 7-Zip (or any other archive extraction program such as WinZip or WinRAR) and extract the map. 2. Copy the contents inside the NAVD_xxxxxxxx_xxx_xxx_xxx folder (just the contents (config.nfm file and pkgdb folder) and not the folder itself) to the root of a >= 8 Gb Fat32 Formatted (NOT ExFat) Flash Drive 3. Insert Flash Drive into the Glovebox USB Port (NOT Center Armrest USB Port), wait 60 seconds, and then follow on screen instruction. This is the code for AUS/NZ Premium 2018: VLHS3EIBKJFZIABQAAXA The code you previously generated is for 2019 map. |

Help!
Hi guys,
I have a BMW X1 2013 e84 and I've heard that it's pretty much a e91. So I've managed to pull the 1b.hex file. Would someone be able to generate the FSC code for these 2018 maps? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks! |

Map installer not launching
Hi guys,
Thought that I'd try the USB to see if the installer launches while I wait for my FSC code. I followed the instructions and can't seem to get it coming up for installation/update. I downloaded the 2018 premium maps from the Google Drive link from the first post in here. I extracted it and copied the contents of the folder into the root directory of the USB drive. The USB drive is 16GB FAT32 formatted USB drive. I turn on my ignition so the CIC turns on and open up navigation. Once that is booted, I put the USB into the glovebox USB slot. I see the lights flash for a bit on the USB, and then it stays off. I waited about 1 to 2 minutes, and nothing popped up on my CIC. Any suggestions? Thanks! |

I have downloaded the 1b BMW Files and copied "copie_scr.sh" and "fsc.bat" to the root directory of a fat USB but it is not generating a 1b.hex file when I put the USB in the glove box slot. Is there another way to do it?

DYI: Easiest way to get 1b file and generate FSC codes for CIC navi map update https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1461515 After the navigation system has started completely, put the USB stick in the USB port in the glove box, then wait for about 3 minutes (30 seconds may not be long enough for some cars, especially if the navigation system is still starting). |

Thanks for the response, I have tried that zip but no joy. I slow formatted the USB as Fat32 before copying the data over. I turned on the engine and let the stanav come up before sticking in the USB. Is there another method?

The USB 1B extractor is for CIC Premium not CHAMP2. https://www.e90post.com/forums/showp...0&postcount=34 |

My 2010 320i E90 is fitted with: S606A Navigation system Business, as per your above post - would this mean my car is also fitted with CHAMP2 Move maps? I'm having trouble determining which version of maps are installed as the smaller screen cuts off at 'Road Map Australia/New Zeala...' and doesn't show me which version I'm on. Thanks! |

I've extracted the 1b.hex file, seems correct size. I noticed that it doesn't seem to contain the full VIN, but only the last 7 characters. Is that correct ?
Having issues with getting the maps to update. Do you put the map update USB in the glove box USB when you are within "Navigation" or just pointing to it ? Thanks |

Yes, only short VIN is generated. Put the USB in the glovebox port before turning on the vehicle. |

Thanks Ken,
Still no joy. My current maps version is :- ATNZ BMW 1.0.13 Road Map Auatralia/New Zealand PREMIUM 2009-1. Do I have to do the upgrade in stages ? Rather than going from 2009 to 2018 ? |

No error. Just nothing happens at all.
Have checked format of USB, and layout. Recreated it. It is a 16Gb unit. I can try an 8Gb one that I used to retrieve the 1b file. Thanks |

An 8GB or larger FAT32 formatted USB drive can be used to install this map. Try another USB drive or obtain map data from a reputable source as the nfm file may be corrupt.

Have you got a tick in the bottom left hand corner of screen when sat nav map is showing.
I thought early CIC models needed a firmware update to take USB updates as some models you have to insert DVD's then take them back out. That tick in the corner I think its to do whether you can update with a USB. Also when you inserted the USB did you go to options and see Software Update update.

All thanks for your help and tips. My issue was I generated the USB on a Mac. This places hidden files in the root of the drive.
I put the drive in a Linux machine and deleted the hidden files and all was good. Thanks again.
