Early (2009) E70 X5 - coding hand brake actuator

Hi all. I am about to change the entire Parking brake actuator/assembly
on my 2009 X5.
I understand though - that it will need coding to the car before it works?

I'm nowhere near a BMW dealer or specialist (that I know of)
So wondering what the easiest option is?
I understand I can buy a cable that plugs into my laptop and pay someone
to code it remotely? If so - what type of lead do I need to order?

I understand that I could download the BMW software and do this myself - But I've never been able to download it successfully and if I did - is it the same kind of cable that plugs into my car?

I'm about to sell the car and replace with a company car - so don't want to spend a fortune of software if I can avoid it.

Thanks in advance
