In that case you open up Toolset 32 (under EDIABAS folder):
1. Open MSD80.prg
2. Look up steuern_batterietausch_registri. (near bottom of job list)
3. Go to Jobs menu
4. Select Run Job

(May alternatively be under MSV70 or MSV80.prg)

Also, and this is important:
THIS IS ONLY FOR REGISTERING AN OEM BATTERY FROM BMW! Alternate replacements will need additional coding to match voltage etc differences

Hey guys, does anyone knows where or which module does reset mileage stored at?
And ones new battery registered which module responsible for charging battery profile?
Thx

could you send me the file, too?

I suppose I have NCS expert version 4.0.1. The profiles I can see only include CICCoding and Expert mode. Also, I have another problem. When I use the Toolset32 and load a .prf file, it takes forever and never completes so I have to kill it. Do you have any suggestions what might have gone wrong? Thanks a bunch.

I checked your guides but always when I open Toolset 32 ja and open MSD80.PRG/MSV70/MSV80 =>EDIABAS Fehler 16 : IFH-0006: COMMAND NOT ACCEPTED...

Can I register new battery ( PM-IBS->F5 recoed battery change-command)? I will install same size battery, what was old and setup.

http://bimmer software.com/bmwlogger-2

You can use this as well. It's free, just delete the space between bimmer and software. There's something wrong with your software and/or cable so maybe this will work.

You'll get a error if you load the program and SGB group without it connected to your car.

That looks like a AGM and the part # says it is. Use NCS Expert and get a TRC file of your CAS module and that will confirm what your car is presently coded for.

I called to BMW retailer, and he said that program offer "AGM Battery 70/80/90/100Ah"

EDIT: I called to another company, which sell battery of cars.... They offer AGM- battery, what capacity is 95Ah/850A.... Can I only register new battery, or ? inpa-program read: Battery capacity 91Ah.

I changed battery and register it. If battery type is wrong (Normal-AGM), How I can Change it? I have Inpa program and Tool32 on my laptop.

You have to use NCS Expert to modify the VO and then code your CAS.

Hi!

I did that VO change from B090 to A080 and after that succesfully used tool32 to register. The problem is that inpa still says that I have 91Ah battery. I'm trying to code a 80Ah AGM. What to try next?

I have that Mike's easy bmw tools package installed.

:edit:
If I read CAS it says 80Ah agm as it should. I did the whole coding part while engine was running because I got some errors from PDC and DSC if only ignition was on.

My car is E91 320d pre-face, thanks

No, you won't.
You just need to have your INPA cable connected to your laptop to load the SGB group without error. You can even browse through the available functions and read the info about what they do and what parameters they return.

If find it odd that NCS_Dummy selections for battery capacity do not have a 91 Ah yet this is what I read from my car in INPA. How can these selections be correct if they don't even have what's read from the car.

I have a post PM module E92 2013 M3 and there is nothing in INPA relative to PM-IBS since this functionality has been moved to the DME. I am able to read the same parameters in the DME in Tool 32 by running battery status routines. I am trying to figure out if i should replace my battery or not as I've been getting "Increased discharge" warnings on and off over recent months. However My SOC read at 64% but my SOH is 19% but according to bmw units SOH is expressed as a signed percentage between -50% and +50% which may or may not mean that a positive number is ok.

What are you guys getting for SOH parameter (state of health) on your battery ? If you need to run tool32 then just select status_klima_system_pm1 and run job one time.

Aftermarket Battery Registration DIY.pdf instruction.

I then found out that the Walmart H8(wet-cell type) can be left as 90Ah(still not 100% certain but anecdotal info seems that 90Ah is acceptable: choice is 80, 90, 95Ah).

Fast forward, I tried to go back to 90Ah from 80Ah and now it won't do it I'm using NCS/Tool32/INPA.
I've tried what seems like 100 times NCS/Tool32. INPA still report it as 80Ah.
I've tried differently to re-code it but nothing works.

Idea is that you should be able to re-code as many times or different value codes with NCS/Tool32 once you done it. Oddly it won't.
No errors just like the 1st time I re-coded it.

FSW-PSW.TRC saved to FSW_PSW.MAN file.
Then modified KLASSE_BATTERIE value to 90Ah from 80Ah. Then run the job once.
Then registered with Tool32. INPA verification comes back 80Ah every single time.

I'm lost at this point............................................. .............
Did need to disconnect the battery terminal as if changing the battery?
2fast4 - don't know if you're still around, but, if you are...

Can you tell me how you learned that the WM H8 should be left at 90Ah? I just bought the same battery. Car is coded for the original 90Ah battery. I registered a new battery but haven't change the Ah. I think the battery is closer to 80Ah but that is based on the RC and a correlation I have.

I'm still alive and kicking Whats' up.
It's been 2.5 years since I've replaced it...i'm hoping it'd die in 2-3 months so I can get a free battery My wife's car Walmart battery died 2 weeks after 3 year warranty ran out and I had to pay over 1/2 the prorated replacement cost...2 weeks. How did they design it so perfectly right?

As for your question I don't remember exactly what made me believe it's 90Ah charging rate. I know stock battery is 90Ah and this EverStart Maxx might be designed for that. Or I thought someone else mentioned that in this long post early on.
I actually know that this battery can be coded as 95Ah but I didn't want to push to the max. It's been fine and no trouble so far after 2.5 years in hot AZ weather. It's Johnson Controls who makes them.

Good news is that you can just leave it alone with the charging code and just register it in Toolset32.
