Just out of curiosity, how come there is this difference in table layout between euro and us? I mean, for a layman it would seem more maintainable to keep them similar from a maintenance perspective? Hope the euro roms don't give you too much of a headache!

Sent to openflashsupport@vishnutuning.com. Big thanks!

If you get a second. On my XP netbook with OpenFlash Manager 1.02, after the dialog box where it did all the updates, I went and clicked on download data (or any other thing on the list) and immediately get an unhandled exception error (reboot no help). No issue on my Win7 machine. Maybe the error has already been seen? Attaching here in case it is something worth someone addressing.

Followup on that attached error above. The work-around I was able to make work for my XP machine, was to go to c:\windows\fonts and remove the 3 fonts in the attached picture (move to another folder). Then I could start up OpenFlash Manager 1.02 and click on the "Download data" link and not get the unhandled exception error, and the software behaved normally.

Hope that helps anyone else with Win XP that might have the same issue. You can copy back those 3 fonts to c:\windows\fonts and XP will re-install them, but then the unhandled exception error returns in the OpenFlash Manager 1.02 software. Did not have this issue on my Win7 machine.

Did just send you my ROM file for my 1M Coupé.

Would be nice to have a tuned file and guidelines how to use it in conjunction with my Procede Rev 3.

Thanks in advance.

is it possible to check the ROM version before purchase of open flash?

I have an old 05/2007 335i Europe never updated and want to KEEP the old ROM for is superb boost response and tip in, newer versions (even with wastegate retrofit are laggier, tested in person)

I opted for the "wastegate valve conversion" a.k.a wastegate retrofit, when updated the ROM. I updated the ROM since the new ROM primes the HPFP before the start up for longevity.

If you tune your car, it makes sense to update the ROM and then let the tuned ROM to spool the turbos even quicker than your original stock ROM. So, the best is to have the newest ROM for the newest stuff such as HPFP priming, and then for the performance, hp and spool, the tuned patching on top of the newest ROM.

I tested side to side a e93 with latest software and the "wastegate valve conversion" with a e92 original 05/2007 ROM

Tha E92 is still far more responsive than the E93 !!!!

In the openFlash is there a table for tip in and turbo lag tuning?

I too would like to know if other ROMS ie the I860S ROM will ever be finished. Been waiting for about 6 weeks now and no idea if the support will return to complete the STG 0 & 1 maps.

You will have to tweak it in TunerPro. You can try lowering the RPM spool point and perhaps adding more WGDC adder to Maf req where there is 0.00 value in your table

I have the I860S. I have two unfinished maps since July.
I don't think they will support our ROMS anymore.

Well that would be a major bummer.
Are the maps the stg0/1 basic maps? How do the maps work out for you?

Both maps are still triggering torque limit faults. Can't run the car over 5000rpm as it will go into limp mode.

Maybe we could get help from some of the other gurus in here to solve that. I'd hate just wait forever to see if there is ever going to be support as proclaimed at the start of this thread.

Any volunteers?

well its called "open flash" for a reason, why don't u guys have a tuning shop that knows Tuner Pro to tune it? Or even e-tune from any tuner like PTF?

Yeah I think that is the way to go if there is no easy fix.
For now we have (well Digitalism has) "almost functional" beta maps that would probably need some minor tinkering/logging to get fixed.

I am not sure though how tuning shops react to creating nonencryptible tunes.

Just called them and talked with Robert.
He said to mail him the ROM (which I did) and that they would be able to answer me in a couple of days (with xdf's I understood).

I'll update you on how it goes.
