My 2011 E90 335i performance

hi everyone,

I'm new on this forum even though I have been reading a lot of threads already. I has been very interesting so far especially about tuning of the N55 engine.

Got my BMW 335i 8 weeks ago. Cars are ridiculous expensive in Denmark as we have a registration fee of 180 % on new cars. My 335i is from 2011 and with 46,000 miles it cost me $88,000.

Is has Harman Kardon sound, performance kit, performance exhaust and so on.

With the high prices on cars tuning is a great way to get a faster car. I'm considering a light tune with the Pure stage 1, FMIC, DP with cat and intake pipe.

Holy crap $88k?? That's crazy. I was just visiting Copenhagen last month and saw some nice cars cruising the streets. Nothing too fancy (BMW M's, MB AMGs etc) I'm assuming those guys are ridiculously loaded.

You won't see alot of M cars here even the 335i is extremly rare. There is a leasing model which is accepted by the tax authorities where the registration fee is paid regularly and not up-front - this is used by most people with more expensive cars). A brand new M3 costs $250,000 (list price) without any extra options. That must seem insane to you

Electrical cars are exempt from this tax - thus the Tesla is popular and actually pretty cheap compared to a BMW 5 series or Audi A6.

Ah, that explains why I saw so many Teslas as taxis and privately owned ones. $250k can get me 3 M4's almost fully loaded here in the US.

Anyways nice 335i! Once you start modding, it will never stop! I'm jealous that you have the opportunity to take it on the Autobahn if you wanted.

from what I understand the rates of pay have inflated considerably to cover this auto tax there...so its a bit relative. Correct me if I am wrong but minimum wage is like $20/hr over there

Wages and salaries have always been high in Denmark and you are correct $20 sounds about right as a minimum wage. It is not regulated by law but by unions and collective agreements.

I wouldn't say that there is any connection between the salaries and car prices. We have a large public sector and puclic healtcare and so on. The money has to come from somewhere.

Taxes from car sales represent a relatively small amount of the total taxes to the state budget every year. Taxes are relatively high on nearly eveything from wages, VAT (25 % on everything), electricity etc. Funny thing with cars, first you pay 25 % VAT and then a 180 % registration fee of the price including VAT

Lovely car bud when you say 88,000, is that USD or Krone? I'm just trying to workout what you paid in £'s as its either about £8k or £56k 😳

Pictures with new "BMW 269 performance wheels". I was tired of the M3 CSL wheels because they went against the fenders when I had people in the back seat.

Do they call that the rape fee? No lube, just take the footer in deep and hard.

It's a BMW "Performance" diffuser. My car was born with it.
