E91 Wagon N52 to N54 Questions
New to the forums things, so cut me some slack here! I am considering an N54 swap into my 2011 328i e91 since the N54 version is not available in US.
I have a few questions before I even endeavor into acquiring a donor car or sourcing parts. I have a GM 6-speed automatic; wondering if this transmission would work for the time being until a manual swap happens, or if manual swap needs to happen with the motor swap. Also wondering about the wiring situation, what is the conversion process on the wiring/electrical from an N54 (likely out of a 335i) into the e91 wagon, and is it likely a pain in the ass? Wiring harness and DME conversion? I have heard mixed things. Any answers, advice, or links to other threads appreciated! |

Motopro292 That’s what I thought on the transmission. Do you know anything about the wiring harnesses, though? I hear there are differences between sedan and wagon. Wondering if I could just hope to hunt down the harness from a Euro wagon with the N54 in it... if no luck, wondering what it would take to convert to wagon.
