Cam ledge issues

Hey guys,
My 07 n54 has developed a tap at the top end, no codes, compression is good, boost is good. I’m pretty sure bein an 07MY it is going to be the cam ledges, Any body done a set? Looking at over £1200 in parts alone to do it

Lifters surely if its tapping without any running issues.
The oil rings manifest themselves as difficulty controlling cam timing.

Forgot to update this, turned out to be a free (but ball ache) fix. The bolt that clamps on one of the v bands on the downpipes had come loose and was allowing the exhaust gasses to escape, I have never heard a blowing exhaust sound like that though, litterally sounded like a engine death rattle.
