Thanks Carl...I'm really enjoying the car even compared to the M3/6. So much easier to get the performance out of!

And for f*ck sake....it's palmBALL! My nut's have nothing to do with my Palms.

Come on guys...is an average driver really going to get the benefit from the extra 4 seconds on a track? And how does that benefit me on the road?

Honestly though...as a road car it is just as good as the M3 was; some things the M3 was better at (e.g. precision, ride quality) and other things the C63 is better at (e.g. sound, performance). Very much swings and roundabouts between the two.

You mention the 'slushbox' as if that was a bad thing??? I guarantee that the 7-speed auto can change gear far quicker and smoother than either you or I could change gear in a manual!!

Please go and drive a c63 before you judge one as they are fucking mental in every way.

PB its a special car. When i drove one on extended loan i loved the gearbox really quick downchanges. defo beter the the M6s smg.
Cheers Steve...can always rely on you for support! And yes, the gearbox is actually one of the best bits about the car. Compared to the SMG in the M6 it is soooo smooth and fast in it's gearchanges....a total revelation!

That gearbox really pissed me off towards the end - in fact, all the things that you highlighted as annoying in the M6 I can relate to almost exactly (but there ain't much to touch it in a straight line)!

What an awesome, awesome bit of kit.
Congrats Palmball, you have superb taste.
That looks an especially nice example - that paintwork looks like wet glass - stunning.
Enjoy!

That looks great, although I may be biased as I sold my 330d to get a C-Class Estate...Mines only a lowly 220 CDi, but if the budget/wife had allowed, a 63 estate would definitely have been on my shortlist.

Are you planning on getting a memory card for the COMAND? If so, I've read that there are some card readers that don't seem to work. You could go and spunk £50 on a reader from Merc, but I bought this for £7.50 and an 8gb CF card and it works perfectly. It takes a little time to sort everything into folders, but I wasn't prepared to fork out for the iPod kit.

Enjoy the car (and the noise it makes...)!!

Thanks for the info KG!

TBH, the car has so many data possibilities that I don't know where to start. I bought the iPhone adaptor for the centre armrest and that came with a 'free' iPod connector. I will probably never use it nor have any need for the memory card or the hard drive! It has a 6-DVD changer so I've just burned all my playlists onto 3 DVD's and I'm done!

Errrrm....NO!

But given I'm getting a frugal 18mpg it depends on how long the race is!

Economy wise, the C63 is positively a hybrid compared to the M6 (but then I am still running it it)!
