Need a mat for my trolley jack
The road where I work on my car (at the end of our cul-de-sac) is very rough. The trolley jack can not move easily when I'm lifting or lowering the car and it even caused some damage when I lowered the car quickly.
I can't see any ready-made mats on Google. So I'm thinking I should make one my self. Doesn't have to be big. Maybe 2x4 foot should be enough. I'm thinking softer bottom layer to absorb the unevenness and hard top layer so the trolley can move freely. Any suggestions what materials I could use and where to get them? |

Nylon sheet for the top layer and neoprene for the bottom layer?

I just googled nylon and it looks well expensive for a sheet of the size I need. I just basically want to see if there is a cheap solution that's better than plywood. Currently I'm thinking maybe a rubber foot-well mat with a piece of plywood on top.

Tbh you don't need to worry about absorbing the uneven floor as just get a sheet of mdf of decent thickness to place down. It's pretty strong and cheap and will just lay down over the uneven floor and the jack will happily move around on it.

A set of these has already been delivered to a neighbour, just have to find which neighbour. I'll see if I can get a chunk of plywood from the timber yard. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Streetwiz...53.m2749.l2649 |
