Game on! After a 40 mile drive, when you would normally be completely heat soaked, I spun in 2nd but once I got traction and shifted to 3rd he was about 3 car lengths behind me. I only got to about 70 mph before it was a no contest and gave him a thumbs up. **Note I don't normally street race and am the first to say keep it on the track** but the road was completely empty and never went far above the limit. Just goes to show how much those 2 can keep IAT's down, feels like a car on cold mornings all the time.
thanks for the headsup Will, mine is going to be install Friday =)

hey, do any of you local sac guys have a muffler delete on your 335i? Or know of any one who does, who could spare a few minutes one day?

I've heard the sound clips and it sounds quite good (to me at least), but I would like to hear one in person. To get an idea of the idle, accelaration, and the drone. especially since it seems like members on the forum seem to either love it or hate it.

^^ Heard it on someones car in the bay. Drones bad. If you drives on the highway at all, I'd stay away. Being that you occasionally visit Newman, that tells me you do. Not recommended.

A year ago, no one in Sac had it. Maybe you'll find someone now.

yeah but i tend to use my toyota most often atm, however my 335i will eventually be my daily in a few months.
the thing about me is that not all drone bothers me. for instance i use to have a 97 mustang GT with flow master exhaust... that drone annoyed me alot. then i had a 99 trans am ws6 with SLP exhaust, it also had drone but that was a pleasure to hear. i am just wondering how the 335i sounds in person.

how do you like yours jay? i assume you like it alot since you had it on two cars now?

what other exhaust mods do you guys do for more sound? with out breaking the bank (other than the DIY disconectiong of the one plug)?
since i would rather use those $1300+ on other mods (such as mtech or m3 front/sideskirts and tune/meth)

Just do a cat delete and get some aftermarket mufflers, should run you less than $400 with everything installed.

Funny... this is truly a very subjective matter. The person in the bay said he liked it too. Then months later, he got an exhaust. I did the golf tee which was okay. I then went to a bastuck dual exhaust. I thought it was too quiet and thus sold it. I never had it with catless downpipes and later heard it made all the difference. I now have magnaflow mufflers with Cyba quads. It's a bit more aggressive than stock. It has little drone. Causes a little vibration around 2k rpm so I had to soundproof the rear center tray so it wouldn't rattle. I also drive in ds mode in town which minimizes the 2k range. Overall, I'm content now.

so any local sac area shops here where i can pick up some parts from?
i hate waiting for shipping. Need some matte grills, some lux headlights, vinyl wrap to get things started? maybe even the bay area if the price is right.

None that I know of, not to mention most local shops will just buy from these vendors and mark the prices up. Talk to Jay, I'm sure he can give you a good deal, plus shipping doesn't take too long. Me personally, I'd rather save 15-20% and wait 5 days for it to ship, but hey thats just me.

I think LTBMW has a shop in the Bay Area if you are willing to drive there.

Has anyone one ever had any coding done to their car? I would be interested in having some things done, anyone know a local coder that could help me out?

Amber gone
mirrors, windows
removing the warning on iDrive on start up
Angle eyes only for DRL
a real digital spedo
seatbelt warning
ding noise when turning on ignition

.....and a few more I could use.

CasperSYTFU can code but he's in the Bay Area....maybe if we have enough interest we could get him to come to Sac.

^^ not a bad idea either

I suppose i could try the muffler delete and if i dont like it, just go the cat delete with aftermarket mufflers route.

well in other news the mod bug just bit me, i just got a used procede v4/v5 (with the harness update done), it is already vin locked. but i thought a price of 465 was fair enough even counting the $150 v5 unlock cost... (hopefully i wasn't ripped off)... so now my issue is, I cant install it right away (for a few more weeks) is there anyother way to tell if it is working properly with out installing it?

let's say:

Amber gone
mirrors, windows
Angle eyes only for DRL
digital speedo

is that necessary to hook up the car to a charger during the coding?

oh btw, what is the ball park are we looking at for coding?

Okay so I went to go check out a 2010 m-tech e92 335i with 9k miles tonight and the only thing really holding me back from pulling the trigger was that it does not have Navigation and this used to be a major turning point but after thinking about it I'm will to lose it cause the car was a beauty!
So my question is, if you have a navi, is it a must have for you? Or can you live without it?
