CIC Update Help Please ... need euro VIN last 7

Good day!

So I lived in Germany for a few years with my US-spec 2011 328xi which was great! Now I'm back in the US and trying to update the Multimedia Software through bmw.com/update and I am running into an issue. For some reason my car has "euro" software on it, so when I type in my US VIN for the update it gives me the US update which the euro software rejects.

So does anyone have a 2008-2011 Euro-spec 3-series that could PM me the last 7 of their VIN so I can get the euro update through bmw.com???

My current software is MX-002.005.025 which I think is very old (probably from production in 2010).

Thanks!

Are you sure your CIC unit is update able..? some units with production date prior to sept 2009 cannot be updated. Are you sure your unit has euro software in it..? if you BMW Mobile services shows a 1 800 number then your software is North American based..

Car is a 2011, built in September 2010 so definitely update-able. When I go into the BMW assist it gives me German phone numbers.

This is what I'm looking at...

I'm definitely in the US, and have a US-spec car.

That is not a German number. The German BMW Assist number starts with 49. i can give you the one i have but i have to go home and find it...! It is a retrofitted CIC unit.... I have ordered many vehicles here in Germany that are US Spec in Nature and all of them have the NA Software. I wonder if they replaced or someone replaced your CIC unit. That is extremely strange.

Did you have your car coded by anyone? Looks to me like someone used NCSexpert to change all the CIC settings from US to ece.

Yeah... i coded my X3 for European use but even that did not change the Connected Drive phone numbers. They are still US numbers.

That is actually a German Number to Autohaus Euler Kaiserslautern which is the supporting BMW dealer in the Kaiserslautern/Ramstein area. If you are located in germany you do not need to dial the 49.

On my retrofitted CIC, the number starts with +49 and it dials to a German main customer service call center. It does not dial to a specific dealership.

well it makes sense, if you are in France and dial Germany's customer service than you will be connected right away. if you use the 0XXX Prefix it will not work.
