QUICK need ADVICE/ANSWERS

I am going to plead a not guilty on a traffic infringement ticket. i really need to know fast whether i can request for a trial by written declaration. can someone with knowledge on this please reply, Thank you!!!

look on the back of the summons....I believe you can check off, not guilty and mail it in...then they will send you a notice when you are to appear in traffic court.

thanks steve. yep thats what i did. but i was really asking, is it possible to check not guilty and then choose to dispute by written declaration, meaning, no actual court appearance: the matter is handled through mail. but i found out you can only do this in california, cuz i called the court and they said i couldnt.
