Nee Esso 93

Copied this from my post on 1addicts.

Noticed that Esso has a new 93 while I was going to fill up my truck. In my 135i, I always put Shell 91. Does anyone know anything about this 93? Is it a true 93 no ethanol? And is it good to use for an Aggressive tune! Or is it just like Petro 94 and this we should stick with Shell 91. Thoughts?

I have tried it few times. It gives me slightly better mileage and responsiveness.

I have been trying this out for the past couple of tanks now that Loblaws is giving out those 2c and 4c/L off coupons.

Notice Esso does not make the claim (like Shell) that their premium gas is ethanol-free - I believe this is the same as Petro Canada (prev Sunoco) 94 where the increased octane is coming from an ethanol blend, so I would expect slightly worse mileage from a tank but probably a bit better performance for turbo cars and those with a tune.

the question has been asked at other car forums. It does contain ethanol (an Esso head office rep replied to one of the blogger's question on this grade)

Use Petro 94 for the octane.
N54 owners are using ethanol (e85) in the states in places where they are lucky enough to have access.
