Looks like a very clean car IMO at a relatively good price. KBB puts the fair market range from $16,800 to $19,996 at "good" condition. NADA puts the retail at $18,050 so if you can get it for $17,000 go ahead.

I see they say it is one owner, which is good.

If you go to a BMW dealer, they can stick the key fob into a computer and pull up all the service records of the car if it was done by BMW. Would cost a couple hundred to get the car inspected by a mechanic but I believe it's worth it.

Good luck! I'm in the same boat you are.

I have a mechanic doing a thorough inspection of it on monday. He seems pretty fluent with bmws so I am conifdent he will know what to look for. Already brought up the HPFP and water pump etc. $200 for it but I will feel alot more comfortable when he looks it over. If all goes well, I should be the owner of this beauty on Monday. Any suggestions to maybe ask 16k for it? Im looking at an 08 SG with 46k miles for 19k and feel like i can get the black one for a little cheaper

You likely know this already but looks like water pump was recently replaced in Feb. of this year at Seattle BMW (at 61K miles) according to Carfax.

Can always start low and go high, but you can never go lower than your first offer, so be careful

I saw that. I guess thats a good thing? I know that replacement can be a pain in the ass and expensive so hopefully it does not go out anytime soon.
