First time BMW buyer : e92 328i

Hi, I'm new to the forums. I've been lurking for a long time now and am finally deciding to pull the trigger on a e92 328i soon.

Since this will be my first BMW purchase, I wanted to make sure I took all of the precautionary steps before hand, and to ask you guys for some insight on what a good price would be.

I've been looking at two in particular and would like your opinions on the pricing of each compared to mileage?

2010 328i

Any advice would be appreciated

First off, welcome to the forums.

Personally, I like the bottom one. They both have the sport package which is essentially a must for any enthusiast. I like the iDrive, which was updated in 09 and is now leagues better. The mileage is good, plus it's two years newer and LCI updated. Plus, it's less expensive!!!

Pull the service records for both of them. (get last 7 digits of VIN, call your local BMW dealer and have them pull their records to see what's been done to the car)

Have a trusted mechanic overlook it before you buy it. Will cost a few hundred up front but could save thousands in the long run.

Keep us updated and good luck!!

I am not a big fan of black interior but if you must choose between these two then I would go with 2010, reason its 2 years newer then first one

Would the 2 year difference make a difference in ownership if the miles are 10k apart?

I really like that saddle brown interior, but the 2010 is more enticing based on it being newer

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm going to check them out later this week

It basically means all the parts have 2 years less weather/wear and tear on them, even if the mileage is slightly different.

Good luck and keep us posted.

It doesnt look like that 2010 is an LCI vehicle (same headlights, taillights, etc) but it has the nav screen and i drive. Also like the appearance of the 2010 better with space gray and shadowline exterior trim though I would take the 08s interior in a heartbeat. Mechanically - its basically a toss up if the carfax is clean on both. One is two years older but it has 10k less miles. IMO mileage is a bigger indicator of wear than model year but these are so close to where its negligible. Would probably take the 2010 at those prices but I do like both of them.
