I think ill def go with a 2011. I debated a built one
https://kansascity.craigslist.org/ct...755814237.html

But ultimately i think i want lower miles. To build myself and i have concerns with how hard he drove it from the videos and info he told me when we talked. It seems pretty wicked tho. Alot of stuff id like to do too but ill play it safe i suppose

If you can get the key cartridge over to a BMW dealer, they can read the key and tell you the service history on the car. It will at least show you what has been done at a BMW dealer and what recalls have or have not been done. I made the mistake of changing the ownership with BMW too soon when I bought mine. Mine had a few years left of the previous owners CPO and I could have probably transferred it somehow to my name for a small administrative fee.

I just got the vin number called the bmw dealership in my area and they pointed me in the direction of the dealership that the service was done, called the dealership and gave them the vin and they emailed me the detailed service history of my car.

Edit: didn’t the see the post above

I'd avoid the wrecked one. Nothing good has ever come out if one that's been repaired...always cut corners somehow that will come to bite you in the ass later on.

I settled on car finally. 2011 M sport with 58k for $14,500. Never wrecked. 1 owner i believe not counting the dealership when he traded it in. Silver and Black was my wifes preferred color (as opposed to white and red for me) no paddles tho unfortunately. Fold down rear seats. Which im not really sure why people are so keen on those lol

Special thanks to Photoguy87! He has been a huge help! So i pick it up monday. Driving 8 hrs and trailering it home. Any thoughts on things to inspect that might be a deal breaker? I havent signed yet so there is still time lol

Looks good

Can't really tell without the engine cover removed. Maybe check service history to see if proper service has been done. See if it's had cbu cleaning. Check vacuum lines. Check for oil around the turbos. Make you you tell the dealer to top off all fluids including def. Check HB and belts. Turn on ac to see if belt squeals. Check around intercooler boots for oil. Go in the service menu on the car to see what service you have coming up.
