I wonder if having taller tires up front will help with rear traction (which will raise up the front to put more weight toward the back for a better launch)?

I have a bone stock 335 Coupe with the Steptronic trans. I routinely get 1.9 60ft times on the RFT's. With an Auto all you have to do is disable traction control completely, select the manual mode, spin the tires over quickly to remove any debris, roll up to the staging light, illuminate top bulb, breakboost to illuminate the bottom lamp. Stay the hell out of the water box on street tires...drive around the water. If the track prep is decent your RPM's should hold around 2k while breakboosting before the tires break free.
I've been to the track once on 18inch BFG DR's(18x10 BBS CH)...first pass out netted a 1.8 60ft utilizing the above method. With my bone stock car (exception DR's) it netted me an 8.53 1/8th mile time. Pretty decent for a heatsoaked run. I'll try it again soon with software at the 1/4 mile track. All the best to you guys out there hitting the strip! |
