"AUX" Plug issues ?

This may be my cable, but unlikely (wont know for sure until the stores open tomorrow)

I added my Sirius Sat radio inside the armrest, and when I plug in the aux plug to the Sat, and aux jack, I get sound mostly out of the back. I pull the cable part way out of the car, or the Sat Radio and various speakers come on and off ... no at this point not sure if my cable is bad or not.

I had this cable in my 325i , only 2 months ago, and it was brand new 3 months ago. NEVER had any issues with it at all.

Is the "AUX" jack in the 08 E92 problematic by chance ?

Just frustrated this evening with this, and looking for anyone else that may have had an issue....

I'll get the cable replaced tomorrow, but until then I wont be able to sleep.

Thanks

Bad cable. It's not a short since it's not powered. It's just like a pair of headphones.

It's possible it's a bad port, but getting a replacement cable will be much cheaper to test.

Just go to radio shack and get a 3.5mm male to 3.5mm male cable. It'll be MUCH cheaper than getting it from BMW and will do absolutely the same function.

Thanks ... this is what I have now, a Radio Shack 3.5mm male to male cable ..

The car is new, and I hadnt tried the AUX jack until this evening ... Just odd that a cable that worked fine went bad between cars while sitting on my desk not being used.

I'll get it replaced tomorrow and give the new cable a try ...

I was just posting to see if any one else experienced an issue.

Short of that, I am going to the BMW dealer tomorrow, so if the cable is not the culprit, I'll take it up with the.

Either way, I will not sleep all night. I have an 8 hour drive tomorrow and need my Sirius

So I bought a NEW 1/8" 3.5mm male to male cable, and no go ... I have to pull the plug out a tad on either end (Sirius or car jack) to get all the speakers to come on. Even then, it doesnt work properly.

I also tried a 1/8" 2.1mm male to male, exact same results ... (also new)

I'm confused, and am left guessing it is my car jack.

Off to try my iPod now and see what happens.
