Sapphire's 10th Bday Makeover

Well...got my car back from the body shop yesterday after they redid the painting of the new M-tech rear bumper and M3 side skirts. Two weeks ago, BMW gave the shop the wrong paint code and I drove a nice two-toned blue car for a week.

BUT...to make it up to me, the body shop manager (and friend) removed and painted my FRONT bumper, which was pretty badly chewed up with rock chips. Wow! What a guy!!! I also had them paint match the grill's surrounds.

So, here she is with her 10th birthday upgrades: The M-Tech rear, M3 side skirts, painted grill surrounds...and...the Motorsport colored grill inserts, just to give the new chromeless-grills a little detail. You either love 'em or hate 'em. I haven't decided yet.

Since she was as clean as she'd ever be, I woke up this AM and hit a few photo-op locations on Mobile's causeway, including an old favorite close to the battleship. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks! Stole that idea from GotChuckz. The all-black grills just looked too big...too much nostril...and painting the surrounds did just what I wanted to see.

But...what do you think about the M-colored grill inserts? My girlfriend loves them, but......... The lack of any chrome (to go with the silver wheels) was a bit of a visual shock at first and these helped for some reason. They been R&R'd many times now.

I think I would polish up the exhaust tips to match the wheels and get rid of the amber reflectors in the bumper too, but it does look really nice as is and important thing is do what you like

Thanks! Great Sunday project...the exhaust tips extend out farther with this M-Tech bumper and are begging for a good polishing...after I take out the grills colors...again. I almost had them color match those side reflectors while in the shop but things were getting a bit complicated. I'll put that on my to-do list. But...I'm an Auburn fan and the orange reflectors on the blue car......I know, it's a stretch.

Now that's a pretty vert!

Where did you get the side skirts from by the way, and how's the fitment up close?

I'd leave the stock chrome grills to make that front end pop a little more. Not a fan of the M slats. But that's me

Very nice, my E92 is ten years old this month and I’m thinking about a few upgrades.
