Hunter alignment and M models and active steering.
Took my 6 (active steering and dynamic drive) into a garage that had the hunter machine.
As soon as they put it on the system, it threw errors asking for this and that to be deactivated/disconnected. As it wasn't a BMW dealer, they said there was nothing more they could do. Anyone else experienced this or know a way around it? I was quoted £25 for the test and I don't really want to know the BMW price because I bet it has a 0 on the end of it

Aaaahhh... it's because your car has Active Steering. I don't know of any independent wheel alignment places who can align an active-steering equipped car properly. You'll probably have to phone around the BMW dealers and haggle them down to a reasonable price. Cost of a KDS at BMW Battersea is about £280. I have seen some dealers do it for around £200, but that's only because people spent considerable time phoning around and playing one dealer off another.

Hi there, sorry to bring up an old thread but I have active steering and adaptive drive on my 645. Can I use Hunter kit or do I need to take it to a BMW garage?
Thanks Dave |
