I'll have some injectors for sale now as at least 4 of the old ones are still useable.

Oil change and a long run tomorrow should sort it out and I'll be happy again
Read your thread. Interesting one and huge effort gone into the car.

Any misfire or issues since you changed all that?

Erm it's not got a misfire anymore but it runs rough still.
Needs walnut blasting and a couple of other bits (low pressure fuel sensor and line)

Got it booked to be blasted in Nov and then gonna get BMW to do the sensor under warranty.

Hopefully after that it will be running smooth again.

Are you still doing the coding and retrofitting?
I want my firmware updating so I can use postcodes for nav.

Thats good. Just wondering why was not it done under warranty? Its unfair that you had to shell that money!

PS: not coding or retrofitting anymore bud. If it changes, I will defo let you know.

I started to notice it running rougher than normal so took out the warranty.

About a week later is when it actually went wrong and the warranty takes 30days to kick in so when I took it to BMW it wasn't under warranty and because it has been in before the warranty kicked in, it was then a "pre existing fault" so wasn't covered

Awesome. I'm in no hurry to get it done anyway

Update time:

So since last time I've done the following:

Done a few miles and got some decent MPGs on a long trip

Painted all 4 calipers and gave it a good wash:

Then bought a Dension DAB+U, Diversity Antenna and a few bits to allow me to do a DAB retrofit.

Then bought some splitters off here and over the xmas break got them painted and fitted:

In primer:

Painted in the correct Azurite Black

Then Wet sanded with 1000, 2500 and 3000

Finally Machine Polished

Then got round to fitting them, and gave it another wash, a quick polish and two coats of wax to see me through winter:

Before fitting:

One fitted:

Both fitted:

And then after being waxed twice:

Splitters look really nice, suit the e90 shape a lot.

I had my hubs and calipers painted recently. I thought it would help me stop looking at brembo sets... it hasn't haha

Splitters really are a great addition. Adds a nice subtle element to the front end.

I pulled the trigger on some splitters after seeing the ones on here for sale, I doubt I'll be able to paint them any where near as good as what you've done! Think I may have to go a slightly different route...

Oh and the mpg figures

Yeah I'd love a set of Brembos but these do the job pretty well.

Nope painted on the car, couldn't be bothered to mess around taking them off etc
It's just some generic metallic blue caliper paint off eBay, came in 100ml tub and I used about 1/4 of it doing all 4 calipers twice.

Yeah, the 35 mpg was done at 75/80mph and the 40mpg was me being controlled and doing 68/70mph.

Tbh painting isn't hard and having a machine polisher makes it miles easier to get a decent finish afterwards.

£635 for the pump, Alu screws, Asa bolt, thermostat & coolant. plus £294 labour

So dropped the car off yesterday and also asked them to check the wastegates (I ask every time I am in).

Got a phone call about 2 hours later to say the technician has diagnosed it needs a new pump and also 2 new turbos. Along with this I've also asked for the thermostat to be changed.

So all the parts (bar thermostat) and labour is covered under the warranty, so they ordered the parts and got to it.

Then today I had another call saying they now need the car an additional day as it needs new lambda sensors (again covered by warranty).

I can't wait to see the final bill at the end. This visit has just made the warranty 1000000% worth having.

Excellent news on that.

Agreed, the warranty when these types of items get replaced makes it so worth it.

I had my pump go about 7 weeks ago (just hit 71k miles). Had the turbo's replaced 2 years ago and a couple of other bits and pieces.

Got the car back this evening.
So its had a new waterpump, thermostat, 2 new Turbos, a low pressure fuel sensor, 2 new lambdas and an oil change along with all the other gaskets and bolts etc.
Drives beautifully, no boost hesitation, the rough idle has died down but more importantly no wastegate rattle.

Also got a copy of the warranty invoice which totals over £3.2k not including VAT.
My payment was £100 warranty excess and £120 for the thermostat.

So happy it's unbelievable.
