UK Company Car Tax

I am awaiting delivery of a 335d M Sport on 21 September.

I notice that this will be deemed an 08 efficient dynamics build car for tax purposes (whether it is or not!!)- see

http://www.vcacarfueldata.org.uk/search/search.asp

This drops the tax down to 23% from 27% saving me £700 a year.

Happy days!!!

the gov use co2 to scam money out of the motorist, its a superb way of making money, if we complain we are deemed not to care about global warming. its a win win situation for them, flatulant livestock is the biggest contributor to co2, and of course myself after a vindaloo! there should be curry tax!

i am a bit disapointed that my 335i is dropping a band, the car is just in band G! 228 g co2, but it could be worse,

from what I can see the new 335i convertible is still in band G!

3 Series E90/E91/E92/E93 335i Convertible - from September 2007 226 co2, just one blomming gram of co2!!! into band G

Tax next year with be 400 notes, wonder if it will increase in 09 or 2010?

Surely the gov cannot do an increase of that nature again for cars bought recently, for example the current leglislation of £400 for cars in band g only applies for cars built after march 2006?!?!?!

Otherwise i am going to get seriously worried about residuals!

Don't get me started...... The great 'global warming swindle' comes to mind. The incoherency of Govt policy is totally beyond belief. Crowded roads, an NHS creaking at the seams, demand for housing as strong as ever, potentially fuelling an overheated economy, what is the answer???? Uncontrolled mass immigration , largely courtesy of the EU and completely porous borders, causing the above problems to become exacerbated further. It defies common sense. Each migrant sees it as his/her 'right' to have a car (some are even insured) which causes more jams more pollution, more demand for improved roads and the Govt (GB) see this as a great excuse for more taxes.... partly to appease the Green brigade who are generally deluded hippies......... I say build 10 more nuclear power stations NOW (zero carbon emmisions) shall I stop now ???

Government bunch of money grabbing incompetent twats!
My 335i costs me £300 to tax! I notice on the link that the emission level is 231, however for E90 335i's registered from september 07 the emission is 221 and hence is band F and £205 to tax! That means that 335i's built up to september this year will be less desirable and hence take a hit on residual.
I note that my neighbours 5.0 litre SL Mercedes registered last year has an emission level similar to the space shuttle (291) and he pays £205 tax!
Where is the logic?!

I see that the E92 335D drops a VED band to as well...the grams/km dropping from 200 to 177. Plus an extra 5 mpg.

Is that an excuse to buy a M-sport model in the spring?

Not really i suppose.

But a new MINI cooper s is in band C with 149..our 5 year old MINI is in the next to top gas guzzler band with 202g ! same as the torque monster

Who would want to drive in central London anyway? runs away and hides.

I commuted in 100 miles each way nearly every day for 6 years...never been back in the last 4 years.

More & more I think which country shall I go and live in next !
just paying my tax & NI (employers & employees) + VAT could have bought a new MINI cooper S with that lot arrrgghhhhh.

Red, I am with you. Given half a chance I would be out of here. The UK is rapidly becoming the worse (and most expensive) place in the civilised world to live and work. At the very least when I retire I will look to buy a place (in the US probably - if I can) in which to spend the majority of my time.

Another bloody stealth tax hijacked by this lying/cheating/coniving gov't. Suddenly the 'Congestion Charge' has become an 'Environmental' tax

This government's hypocrisy knows no bounds, as for this environmental con that we're all being 'sold' by the gov't and media, how come the aviation industry is exempt from VAT on fuel? and other surcharges that the rest of us tax-payers are funding to support private industry - bar stewards !:mad:

There's no credible alternative at the moment - only that f#ckwit Boris Johnson has announced he's standing and who would vote for him?

Don't forget that around 40-50% of London residents do not own a car.

60% can't be arsed to vote in a b/s election.

Of the rest only about 5% give a toss.

My own view is that they are all wankers.

Seriously Are you sure those stats are true. I would have thought that Greater London car ownership %'s would be higher than that

My wife was born in brisbane, aussie land, and has an aussie passport. We could go to-morrow and escape this taxed society we all live in. Besides they all run 5.0 v8 Holdens with no tax penalties and cheap fuel. I'm off........ what do you think?
