I hear a knock/clunk sound when I tap on the breaks

Hello

I have a bmw e92 n55, when I do a sudden stop or a none smooth stop. Normally low speed, I hear a knock/clunk sound. Sounds like it's under the car, but I'm not sure. Any ideas what this might be?

Thanks

I would start at the end links and then inspect all bushings up front.

Check out the thrust rod bushings in particular.
When braking hard at high speed, does the car pull to the side?

I'm voting bad thrust arm bushings as well.

Once in a while I get a clunk from the transmission on quick stops when the car is shifting down into first. if you're feeling something more drivetrain related like that it Could be mechatronics sleeves or trans needs an adaptation reset maybe.
