Bilstein B8 on Backorder

If you are thinking about ordering some B8s for your E90, you better act quickly. Several vendors are already out of stock. The B8s are backordered until February 2018.

Struts are still on backorder from various sites. Prices are super inflated as a result. If you can wait, you can still get them for $205 from Tire Rack.

Rumor has it they're moving equipment to a new building, resulting in an interrupted supply chain.

If you order two struts from Tire Rack and two rear shocks from Bav Auto, you'll pay $659.90 for everything. I haven't found anything cheaper than this so far.

Are you saying Bav-Auto has some rear sets... ?

I got B8 rears from tire rack last week. Still waiting on fronts. They said late-May to early-June.

Rock auto also had rears.

Thank you I will try that. Tire Rack had none from what I could see yesterday...

Both Tire Rack & Rock Auto are a bust. Neither of them has the B8 for the rear of an M3...

Thank you man. Unfortunately I also tried them as well with no luck in current inventory. John quickly got back to me saying they would be out for a while... ! :-(

Yep. I received mine a few days after ordering. I'm just waiting on the struts from Tire Rack.

Received an update. Bilstein is still having inventory problems. My struts are delayed at least another 2 months.

I don't understand what is so significant about these to be worth the wait, especially knowing that manufacturer is experiencing issues.

Are they really that much better than the Koni equivalent? After seeing all this freak out during the backorder period, it seems as if the bilstiens are put on quite the pedestal. I'm now second guessing if I should do Koni yellows or hold out for these.

Better? That would be very subjective. I highly doubt they are better let a lone superior. I personally run Koni since 2010 on two different vehicles with zero regret and would never pay and wait months for a part like this because is simply ridiculous.

I got the Bilstein B12 setup days before the inventory dried up. Had the car come with these and an LSD there would be no need for an M3 for most drivers.

Man, I can't believe they are still on back order 6 months later.

I already received the rear shocks, so I'm just going to wait on the struts. I'm in no hurry to install them, especially with how hot it has been. I will only be charged for the struts once they ship.

B12 Pro kit for E82 was in stock on TireRack. They said I took either the last one of last 1 of 2 they had, and it came from the distribution center that normally wouldn't ship to FL

I have seen on some vendor sites that Bilstein B8's would "ship" on August 16, if you ordered today sort of thing.

My current B12 kit on the car has 30,000+ miles on them. I bought them from FCP. So, when I get 50-75k on them, I'll just turn them in and get new ones. Hopefully, in a couple years, there won't be a shortage like this. If your are in a warranty situation and that would kind of suck.
