Heater Control Circuit Bank 1 sensor 2 after 2nd cat delete
Hey guys,
After deleting the secondary cat I am not getting a P0036 engine code, I assume because the secondary cat has been removed does anyone know a permanent fix for that error? |

This error seems to just have happened right after I got my new afe race pipes and muffler. I scanned it again today and received these additional errors p2401 evaporative emission system leak detect pump control circuit low and p2419 evap emission system switching valve control circuit low. Any ideas if maybe there a leak somewhere in the exhaust where it wasn't welding properly or could it just be 02 sensors due to the missing 2nd cat. Thanks

i would check you gas cap. That is usually what causes evap system codes... Otherwise maybe check you charcoal canister. I somewhat doubt the exhaust caused this but i could easily be wrong

I tightened up the gas cap but didnt seem to help once the code is cleared it comes right back on. I read online the car does a check on the cats when it is first started but if that is the case i dont know how to bypass it

I didn’t get any CEL when I removed secondary cats with Supersprint mid pipes. I don’t think the errors have anything to do with cats.

your posibilities are gas cap, evap sensor underneath the manifold common with bmw's. its also depends on mileage etc. |

any update? I didn't do any exhaust mods, I have p2401, p2419. Dealer replaced both my cat converters over 2yrs ago ($$$$). I have had these codes for past 2yrs and my car is fine... any ideas?

my guess is that during the installation someone bumped the charcoal canister most likely.. Idk why, its not really near the exhaust. But check for a leak there. After that i would just say dont worry about it
