I don't disagree with you that too little power can be a buzzkill—my 328xi knows that I think it's a slow and ponderous little bitch—but it's often true what they say: It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than it is to drive a fast car slow.

If I had kept it and not traded it in (Thanks Honey!!! ), I was looking at installing a Supercharger, so I can't disagree with you, but I will say that of the three BMW's I've owned, the ZHP was easily my favorite. Just enough tech to make it comfortable, but the tech did not hinder the car much at all.

I think that about my 328xi from time to time. But I've come to realize that is just because I get used to the car. So every once in a while I drive my mom's avalon and can't wait to get back in my car.

Haha, well, in all seriousness, I do think we should periodically drive lesser vehicles so we can maintain the love of our own.

I don't see anybody here mentioning the E34. That is a truly beautiful classic BMW sedan and I bet the handling it great. Would love to try driving one.
What's my favourite BMW? How about every single 3,5 series ever made excluding The F30 and any 7 series e38 or older. |

I agree about the phones being much more advanced than what idrive has to offer.. I usually use my phone for short trips to a new friends house for example. |

Thought that said, I had the OTA updated NAV setup in my M235i, and that was easily on par with my phone. But no idea how long BMW will continue updating that system. But even on that car, if I could have gotten NO screen, I would have. But given the choice of the ugly little standard screen or the big beautiful and much more useful full NAV package screen, it was a no brainer to get the good setup.

Yes more HP makes the car even better but be careful because it makes you more boring.

Ive had E30s, E34s, E36's, E46's, an E90, and now an E82 and honestly the most fun I had was in my E34.
1989 525i with a manual transmission. Had that car for 3 years and drove the hell out of it, it was cheap to maintain, fun around town, got great mileage, was a great cruiser on the highway, had classic BMW looks, and I could fit myself (6ft2) and 4 of my college buddies in it without issue. Handled great with a nice set of summer tires, and I could hoon it in the snow on a set of winter tires. Definitely some good memories in that car. Last edited by JM98; 03-18-2020 at 07:59 PM.. |

E39, e30 and e90. I don't care about nothing that's coming out from BMW after e90.
