These are real race mounts which means in very short order you can expect them to produce a lot of noise. They aren’t sealed from the elements.

Is your car a track car?

Not in the slightest lol. I was just looking to get something upgraded from using the factory rubber ones. But seems like that's the only logical route.

Yeah for a daily driver I wouldn’t stray from the OE stuff on the lower mount. The upper mount, however, has great aftermarket options. Cheaper route; Monroe - look it up. Pricey route; Dinan. Both offer a similar performance upgrade.

Really I don't even need to replace the shock mount, its basically new. The problem is that inwas an idiot and stripped the threads on one of the bolt holes. Maybe I could re thread it? I'd just have to know what size it is

Yeah it's worth a try to rethread it, but there's not much metal there. If it doesn't work then new mounts are real cheap. I also would stick with OE or OEM.

Size is 10X1.5. Bolt part number is 33526764406. Universal across all E90s.

Just drill it out and use a bolt and nut on it.

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Yeah I think that's what I'll do. Seems like the easiest solution. Plus last time, I bought that bolt from BMW and it was $12.

Well, having a full tap and die set, I would have tried to re-establish the threads first TBH, just because it's fun cutting threads. So I think your idea was a first-order repair. Definitely wouldn't replace an almost-new mount.

Well, I took my tap and die set to work, big mistake. Basically I cant take it back home unless I can prove that its mine..... not worth all that hassle. So drilling it out I think is what I'll do

Wtaf?? You have to prove to them that it's yours? Do they not know what they have??

I'd take my taps and dies, and a few of their things home. Prove to me they're not mine!

Sorry. That sort of thing makes my blood boil!

Yes but I have to go through security before I exit our building. And it's just a huge ordeal. Not worth losing my job over a $20 tap and die set from Amazon.
