The point of "Climate" in iDrive
I am not asking what the features are, I understand those. But one would think that if they were giving it a main screen display, it would be more useful than just vent settings and a parked car. I am not suggesting they get rid of the controls, but maybe add some redundancy so that at the very least, you gain voice controls.
I'd also like to see it have an option to 'disable' dual climate, so that the driver's knob would change both sides at once. Anyway, my $0.02

I'd like to have a voice command to set the temperature(s) like the speed limit has. If they're going to have voice commands, then every setting should have one. What's the point in having a VC for vents if you then have to manually set them?

Yeah, no kidding. I don't understand the utility of having a "ventilation" screen on iDrive -- and giving it a whole top-level menu, even. I never, ever use that. I mean, trip computer and stopwatch share the navigation menu with the maps and address book on the right side. Meanwhile, vent settings gets its own home over on the left.
I keep meaning to try the timed ventilation thing, but I've never even tried it.

Doesn't have much use during the cold winter months but come late spring, it has its use provided you can schedule the time whereby you arrive at the car during or just after the ventilation finishes. It only works for 30 minutes for each of the two timers and has to be reset each time (no setting it for a time and it run each day at that time).

Also, I hate it when a lot of cold air blows in my face, but still want a little coming from the middle vents.
Through the climate settings I can make it so most of the cold air comes from the vents under the windshield (where the defrosters are) and just a little comes from the center vents. Car gets cooled and I'm super comfy.

Yeah in regards to first post, wish they had a setting to match both climate zones to be controlled by the drivers side. My old Audi you just hold down a button...
