Rough idle when AC turned on....

I'm getting quite a rough idle when I turn the AC on high (325i e90)... when I turn the AC down to off, the rough idle improves a bit, but is still there.... (80k miles on the odometer)

Anyone have an idea of what it could be? from the other threads other people seem to have the opposite situation where the rough idle reduces when they turn the AC up higher....

any help would be really appreciated

I've been having the same problem, noticed it around 65k. I also get very choppy acceleration when Rpms are >4k (so pretty much just at 80% throttle or more). Have you noticed anything similar?

not choppy in that range, but say from 0 - 1200 RPM it is a bit choppy

I had a similar problem. When the AC was on the idle was rough and rpms would surge randomly. I have 80K on car 325i

Changed spark plugs and car now works like new.

Hope that helps

Do you think this could also explain choppy acceleration in high Rpms?

It may affect acceleration also.

If acceleration is your problem you may have a PCV leak, which I also had. I had to replace #3 and reconnect #4 because it was loose. After I did that and the spark plugs my car does not have surges when the AC is on and the famous engine ticking actually went away completely.

Good luck!

Hey there got an F25 (2011 x3 28i) and an N52N engine under the hood. At 45K miles and the car is having issues with the AC. When on it idles rough

Did an obd 2 test and it shows error code: 80114A0

No results on the web so far, anyone know what it could be? The compressors working just throwing weird idles.
