Can stock RFTs be used as a spare?

I'm currently running with the following setup with KW Variant 2:

19x8.5F ET40 (5mm spacers)
19x9.5R ET33

235/35/19F
265/30/19R

I still have my stock 18' with run flats sitting in my garage. Has anyone used the stock 18's with run flats as a spare? Can it be done?

That would be the BEST use of RFT's since they are more or less worthless for normal driving.

I just want to confirm if anyone has done this. I still have the stock Potenza tires on them. Are those tires asymmetrical? Perhaps a Tire Rack rep in here can confirm?

It would be far closer than a donut spare. I have heard of many doing this, not myself, so wait til someone else chimes in, but I think you are fine using it as a spare.

Ok, so according to Tire Rack the Potenza RE050A RFTs do have an asymmetric tread pattern. I was looking at my tires last night and I did notice that the tread wasn't specifically directed in a particular direction compared to my Hankook V12s. So now I'm hoping someone can chime in to help confirm this.

I have 19" wheels and I use my front 17" style 161 as a spare on longer road trips. You should have no problems as long as the rolling diameters of the 18" and 19" wheel + tire are within a few % of each other.
