Newly painted 335i
I just bought a 2008 335i coupe. Due to a scratch, dealer has agreed to repaint the hood. I was just wondering how to take care of the newly painted hood.
Should I leave it alone for a few weeks before waxing/polishing/sealing? Or do I need to do something immediately after picking up the car (after dealer's done with the paint). |

Everything I've heard or read says to wait at least 30 days before you apply any wax or sealant. Fresh paint, if not fully cured needs to off gas a bit and they recommend letting it do that without any wax or sealnt to inhibit that natural curing.
I'd probably ask the painter as well.

Leave it alone. The paint needs to outgas to properly cure and the wax will inhibit the process. The body shop can recommend glazes that are safe if you want to put something on it.
