I don't really think we need flyers, but they can't hurt....main thing is to make sure all the pertinent info is accurate....the rest (pictures and such) should be related to the event, but aren't that important....

The locals and I have been talking about putting together a route for a nice hill country drive that afternoon.....the details of the drive will be disclosed at the meet.

If we want to email out some flyers, or hand them out to some of the BMW drivers that we meet it might be nice to have a couple. Never the less, I live out at Lakeway and have some idea's for the route...we could put that on the flyer too if we can get the route together.

Here is an example just need to finish it up...I want to make a back / second page with the map and route on it if we have it... Let me know what you think...not spell checked or anything at this point...

Looks good! I agree with the flyer idea. Just to be able to place it on the windshield of a BMW that we are parked next to, just to get the word out, I think is a great idea. The only other thing I would suggest is a copy of the link to this thread so people that aren't members can check out what's going on and possibly chime in.

I think a flyer is not necessary, but like Mike was saying, it won't hurt to have to pass around...

Suggestions on the flyer:

1) less words, more pictures
2) maybe posting more e9X and e46, etc pictures instead of a 6-series , X3, etc
3) google maps aerial view of the location (doesn't have to be a satellite image) will not hurt
4) a slogan from hula hut might be nice
5) include the drive we will be taking afterwards (also include that's it's optional and NOT mandatory. we don't want to turn anyone away...)
6) Also, I would suggest putting a contact information section so people can email / call / PM someone for additional information... Mike would you be up to put a pseudo email or your PM for this?
7) that's about all I have for now...

EDIT:
8) putting something like: "come show off your XXXXXX to other BMW enthusiasts"... kind of like attracting more people to come!

Anyone else... feel free to contribute!

People can do as they wish, but I wouldn't recommend putting a lot of time or effort into flyers.

A concern of mine is, people that get flyers may or may not show up....but the chances of getting those informed by flyer to properly RSVP are going to be slim to say the least.

I really hope to get as accurate of an RSVP list as possible by April 11th so that we can let restaraunt mgmt know how many people will need seats. and I hope we don't outgrow the location.

Flyer Details

Well, I think the contact person is a great idea...and I can put a link to this thread so people wanting additional details can find it....As far as outgrowing the location that is a good point..

But it sure would be nice to have a huge turnout...show those Socal guys whats up...no offense they have some great looking meets.

If it goes over well it would be nice as an annual meet...don't know if this is the plan or not.

Oh and I am hunting buddies with the service manager at BMW of Austin, I can call him to see if they want to sponser something if you guys like. I have to run the car in this week anyway.

I can put a the RSVP date on the flyer...so we can get a good head count. But for non-members of BimmerPost we need a contact person...

No harm talking to BMW of Austin to promote the meet, or even drop off a couple of hundred flyers there to give to people as they bring in their car for service....

I really don't think we'll be outgrowing the venue. There's ample parking (Andy and I have gone out there several times), and I've seen parties in the order of 40 or 50 there before.... it's chaotic, but then again.. any venue with a reservation of 50 is chaotic....

we should be fine...

in terms of contact... we can create an email address for people to chime in their questions, etc...

Laters,
SWEET! I also need you to talk to your service manager to see about hook ups for us. I'm trying to get my alarm programmed and they want to rip me off! sorry, had to get that off my chest.

I can't wait for this to go down, props to those that have stepped up!

So what's the deal? Let me know I will see if I can get you a deal... The other way to get it done and done right is to go to a little place called Pauls motor works...A great way to get your BMW serviced...for a fair price. They only work on BMW's and are great people over there. When my 2001 330ci was out of warranty I went there and they are great.

I will get the flyer finished by the 1st..and post it here. I will also call BMW of Austin in the A.M. and get them on board. I have a rep from Apple Sport Imports that will probably be making a trip out to the meet. We may have a couple of them comming out to show off a couple of the rides they have for sale. They have about 12-13 for sale at the moment and are absolutly great to work with. I went to test drive a 07 335i Coupe today...black sooo sweeet! Only 20K on dial and just full of fun!!! I am good friends with Will he is thier top sales guy...what a good sales person...

Really goes above and beyond to get you what you want..very fair and honest.

For anyone interested the website is http://www.applesi.com
