Number plate mounting
Afternoon all
I have just fitted private plates to my E91 The front plate that I removed had four screws, one in each corner To tidy the installation up I have fiyyed the front plate with two screws half way down the plate on each side Where the screws are fitted there is something very solid behind, is this just a solid bumper bar or is it something more delicate - I have not drilled into it when I made the pilot holes for the screws Many thanks in anticipation

must say the holders do look better,, i have one on my e90,,but not on my e92..i was going to fit a short plate on my e90,,so took the holder off,,then realised the plate would not cover the screw holes,,so bought some proper iength plates and put holder back on,,plate is 5 letters/numbers

Cleanest look for me is 3M double sided tape, I used it for the front and back and it hasn't moved an Inch in 6k miles.
If not, I would go as above with a pate holder. |

Best option is a plate mount that goes in the tow hook spot.

This is where I am at so far
My concern is what is the solid mass behind those screws behind the bumper cover [IMG][/IMG]

The screws literally just go into the plastic skin of the bumper; there's nothing else behind there that they should touch... If that's what you're asking?
