Has anyone come across a good DIY for halogen to LED low beam headlight conversion?
Anyone had success doing this themselves?
Halogen bulbs were H7 and going to H7 LED is a tough fit on the low beam. Can't get retaining clip on after many attempts.

You really shouldn't be installing LED or HID bulbs on the halogen reflector, without proper projectors you'll blind oncoming traffic.

I retrofitted headlights with projectors, H7 LEDs fit no problem.

Bump. Hoping if someone has a tutorial for this as I can only find ones for F30 Halogen to LED conversion. Is it the same? (i.e. Swap in the LED bulbs and code out the errors and cold/hot checks)

Per my earlier comment, you should either:
- retrofit OEM projectors/xenons
- modify your lights and retrofit projectors inside them
- install aftermarket headlights that have projectors

Technically you could just swap the bulb and code it out, but in many markets that is illegal because it will blind oncoming traffic when used in a halogen reflector.

LED and HID should be used with a projector so that they focus all the light towards the road. They are much brighter than halogen and can be dangerous when shining towards oncoming traffic.
