Optimal price on a 335i?
Hi all,
Sorry if this is in the wrong thread (New here). I’m not too up to date with the market and wanted some opinions. I’ve done some of my own research and the variance in price is quite large which is why I figured I’d ask here. What should I be paying out the door on a 2013 335i coupe 6-speed? Let’s assume 40-60k miles as what I’m seeing as of recently. Fair/good condition given that it’s a 6 year old vehicle. Any insight is appreciated. |

I’d say mid teens to low 20’s depending on mileage/condition. 6spd cars are difficult to come by, and some sellers expect a premium. So it may be difficult to shop around.

Just to give you a point of reference, I sold my 335 I Xdrive with 20K on it for 30 thousand C$ two years ago.

A good ball park number if its really clean and with reasonably low miles 30,000 or less would be $18. Miles greater than that would probably drop it to $15.

Most around me are AT and have 60-70k mileage and are listed at $17k, so OTD it’s more like $19k. Seems a bit high in my opinion which is why I wanted to ask here.

Those in teens must be really stripped, high miles and most likely not M Sports
I would find it hard to imagine a 6MT that wasn’t a MSport. A clean 2013 335i MSport AT with 45k miles fully loaded was at $24k and rising on eBay with multiple bidders the other day with 2 days left. |

Just had a look at the manual F30 335's available on auto trader right now. Not a whole lot to chose from, and 90% of the manuals are Msports.

You mean a 435i right? You want a coupe?
I know the dealer was ready to give me $22,000 on my 2014 335i RWD Sport Line 6MT sedan on trade in earlier this year when I found out the G20 was axing the manual. I figure in private sale I could get about $25k? My car is pretty well optioned and only has about 25k miles. I didn't end up trading it in though because I decided to maybe just wait for a 6MT G80 M3. On the used market, the difference between M Sport and Sport line is probably about $1000 at most. There are VERY few luxury or "no line" 335i 6MTs. You definitely will want a car with at least premium package. Tech package adds nav and head up display. All American 335s will have adaptive HIDs. There is also the Dynamic handling Package which adds adaptive shocks and variable sport steering. Both are not exactly the most advanced technologies and are probably not worth it if you live in a warm area with nice roads. It's also nice to get M Sport brakes which are fixed caliper brakes on all four corners. The base sound system is also pretty mediocre so you'll want to look for the premium sound pkg if you like listening to music. Oh, and leather is also an option, don't forget. Don't assume all the cars have leather. no trim came with leather standard. If you want a relatively clean, well-optioned car with about 30k miles, look to spend at least in the low 20s. You could definitely end up spending over 25k though. But to answer your question. For a 2013 with 40k-60k miles, I'd figure in the $15-$20k range depending on options. |

There wasn’t a 2013 435i. 2014-2016 only.
There were 2013 335is Coupes based off the E series. That’s why I included both 335i and 335is in the 2013 list I ran above. The Blue M Sport Brakes were not an option in 2013 Vehicles. Only real addition for 2014 MY in the F3x series. Last edited by IK6SPEED; 10-24-2018 at 02:20 AM.. |

I'm on the same journey as you, OP.
The rarity of the 6-spd cars is a factor, as is the wide range depending on options. Here's a good breakout of '14's: https://www.autoblog.com/buy/2014-BM...Sedan/pricing/ All the info here is valid, your range is about 19K to 22K depending on options. The ones to watch out for are: The Premium package (most have it, but you have to run the VIN to tell, pictures often don't show the handle or keyfob) Driver Assistance - easily seen with the parking sensors in the bumpers Tech package - watch for the full size infotainment screen as opposed to the small one M-sport package will not have fog lights. Many sellers confuse in the listings the difference between sport and M-sport. No fogs = M-sport. Good luck! |
